[Anticipated Graduation May 2010]
. Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, Pune University, India, 2005
(GPA: 3.4)
Experience:
South Dakota State University, Brooking, SD, US (August 2009- Till Date)
. Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) for Physics Department as a Lab
Instructor
. Responsible for teaching Physics 111 Lab, setting and assessing lab
reports. Tutoring.
. Responsible for teaching Physics 113 Lab, setting and assessing lab
reports. Tutoring.
South Dakota State University, Brooking, SD, US (January 2008- December
2008)
. Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) for Mechanical Engineering
Department
. Responsible for assessing: ME 215 (Dynamics), ME 321 (Machine Design)
and ME 451 (Auto Controls System Engineering) undergraduate courses.
Daktronics, Inc., Brookings, SD, US (May 2008-December 2008)
. Worked in a CAD environment utilizing Pro-Engineer and AutoCAD for
detailed design and drafting of parts and assemblies.
. Experienced working in ISO 9000-2001 standards and maintain
conformance with the company's ERP standards.
. Effectively applied Lean Project methodologies to eliminate waste and
optimize processes.
. Worked on Bill of Materials (BOM) and routing of orders, ECO's,
modifying records.
. Applied Lean manufacturing principles resulting in elimination of non-
value added activities.
CADCAM Guru Pvt Ltd, Pune, India
. Modification of an existing Hydraulic manipulator (arm) using ANSYS
8.0. Stress analysis of Hydraulic manipulator (arm) to lift the load
up to 100 kg. The geometry with all required parameters (materials,
boundary conditions and loads) was analyzed for various positions of
the manipulator.
. The maximum deflection and maximum stress were calculated. Stress
distribution were noted and plotted for various conditions. This
project resulted 10 % saving in material cost.
Tooltech, India
. Design and drafting of a hydraulically operated Pipe Bending Machine.
(Diameter up to 50 mm).
. Final drafting and modeling was conducted using CATIA V5 R15.
Academic Projects:
. Finite Element Analysis of dental prosthetics using ANSYS, (September
2008-Till Date)
The objective of the project is to study different biomaterials
suitable for use in dental prosthetics. Simulation of 3D model of
Dental Implant by using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) technique and
optimization of stresses; simulate the results due to various loads
acting on the implant. The dental implants of different dimensions are
studied and a CT Scan X-ray machine is used to create 3D solid
geometrical model and imported it in Ansys software. Depending upon
the critical locations and stress values coarse and fine mesh options
are used to optimize the results. Determination of the strength of
the implant and thereby loading capacity of different biomaterials
using computational model in ANSYS
. Vibration Test Rig, (July 2004-June 2005)
Designing and Manufacturing of a Vibration Test Rig. A project fully
funded by the institution; Completed the project with 30% cost
reduction and enhanced data acquisition features over commercial
competitors. Designed and implemented classical sensing methods viz.
optical displacement & strain gauge type force sensors.
. SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) System, (July 2004-
December 2004)
To highlight the importance of offshore SCADA (Supervisory Control And
Data Acquisition) System for real time monitoring of oil/gas
production parameters and control of wells. Controlling of the wells
remotely, thereby preventing wastage of the products (oil or gas) and
increasing safety Giving real time information/data across oil field
to minimize losses This system helps in operating unmanned platforms
(located offshore for extraction of oil or gas) remotely. Capital
investment on Offshore SCADA system is justified by considering its
optimization in production and safety.
Academic Achievements:
. ASME Member since 2008, Membership Number: 100011650
. Presentation on Composite Ceramics during Metal Fatigue Engineering
course.
. Worked as a Data collector for the National Children's Study (N.C.S.)
in SDSU. N.C.S. is a U.S. Government project.
