Directly responsible for the management of all power marketing
activities for clients in the wholesale energy market. This included
long term energy and capacity deal structuring and execution, risk
management and hedging strategy development to measure and control
risks for energy and natural gas exposure and development of
complicated deal structures to facilitate wholesale market activities.
Assigned as the eastern United States business development
specialist. This included identifying opportunities to expand
services to the current client base as well as to initiate services to
new clients under a long-term contract for services for the region
east of the Rocky Mountains. Management of integrating the new
services and/or client throughout TEA as well as the client
organization was critical to success in overall customer satisfaction.
Developed and presented the concept of a pre-paid natural gas product
for the membership. This included development of the deal structure
as well as working with the suppliers and investment banks as parties
to the transaction. Potential volume would range between 10,000-
50,000 mmBtu/day.

Established and managed the southeast regional office with specific
market focus in the Florida (FRCC) region. Initial focus included the
introduction of energy management products and services for Duke
Energy Trading and Marketing (DETM) the all utilities in the region.
This included executing enabling agreements, developing products and
services addressing the specific needs within the region.
Responsibilities included evaluating and responding to RFPs for
capacity and energy products, which resulted in the expansion the
market footprint and revenue of DETM. Examples of these products
include overall energy management agreements, agency agreements, and
evaluation of economics of the development of a small power pool,
seasonal swap of energy and/or capacity and structured long term
marketing transactions.

Responsible for initializing the ground level development of a FERC
regulated power marketing and trading company in response to FERF
Order 888 & 889 in the development of wholesale electric markets. The
initial focus was in the New England region, which within one year
grew to include the continental United States. Specific attention was
given to product development in order to add value and manage risk
while having a keen awareness of concerns and regulations of its
trading partners. Responsible for the development of business plans
and management objectives to achieve trading levels which placed the
company third among its competitors. This was accomplished by
creating teams of individuals to focus on each region in the United
States to carry out its marketing and trading objectives. Additional
responsibilities included staff selection and training for the
dispatching and scheduling groups.

Commercial and Industrial conservation program. Includes the
preparation, evaluation and approval of Request for Proposals process
to facilitate the program. Managed and allocated a multi-million
dollar budget. Prepare testimony in response to data requests from
the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and Department of Public
Utilities.

Primary responsible included all wholesale market activity within the
ISO-NE (formally the New England Power Pool) and NY-ISO (formally the
New York Power Pool). This included calculating market position for
the purpose of energy sales and purchases in the short and long term
markets. Negotiate power contracts with New England and New York
utilities. Net impact, either increasing revenues to shareholders or
decreasing energy costs to customers. Overall impact varied each year
with the impact in the millions of dollars annually. Other
responsibilities included the development of standard operating
procedures as well as documentation of all market activities for
review by state and federal agencies.
