Supply Chain Manager, Memory Division VERIGY, Inc. (Agilent
Technologies), Cupertino, CA 2006 - present
Verigy is the leading semiconductor test equipment company, spun off from
Agilent Technologies/Hewlett-Packard in June 2006, and is publicly traded
as "VRGY" on NASDAQ Verigy Memory Test Solutions is the leading test
equipment supplier to companies like Intel, Micron and Spansion.
Recruited back to Agilent prior to the initial public offering as the
division manufacturing manager.
Lead worldwide strategic sourcing for rapidly growing technology group with
annual spend of $150 million including procurement, supplier selection and
management, materials engineering, outsourcing agreements, inventory
programs, and contract negotiations focusing on new product introduction.
Drive assurance of supply activities on shortages while business grew
dramatically in component constrained market. Interfaced with customers on
activities to meet un-forecasted >250% upside and met all revenue
commitments.
Accountable for MTS division's operations including manufacturing, cost of
goods, quality, inventory and revenue.
Drove New Product Introduction of new platform - transitioning to >80% of
suppliers to be localized to low cost geographies.

Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing BOOKHAM TECHNOLOGY,
San Jose, CA 2003 - 2006
Bookham comprises the former fiber optics components (transceivers,
filters, and amplifiers) and subsystem operations of Nortel Networks,
Cierra Photonics, Ignis Optics and Onetta, Inc. It is publicly traded as
"BKHM" on NASDAQ
. Managed all strategic outsourcing, key supplier relationships,
negotiations, and costs for Bookham's transceivers.
. Promoted to lead corporate strategy and execution of global
outsourcing partnerships representing about 25% of corporate COGS.
Partners include Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and Original Design
Manufacturers.
. Transferred volume and new product introduction manufacturing from to
Asian CM and managed the relationship. Designed supply chain for USA-
based R&D teams, the key strategic initiative technology for the
company.
Achieved a cumulative >22% annual cost reduction in COGS (for example
critical commodities reduced by 15-86% through negotiations, consolidating
supply base, and qualifying new suppliers). Maintained supply/motivated
suppliers during negative cash flow environment.
Proactively developed and negotiated contracts, including production
material as well as critical licensing (technology and software),
infrastructure (servers, equipment) and MRO deals.
Introduced and managed outsourced profitable product line independent of
all internal design resources.

Sycamore Management Consultants was a boutique consulting firm catering
in Bangkok focused on Thailand-based technology firms on management and
strategy. Co-founded firm and led operations for the firm.
. Clients included MSC Corp. (leading IBM distributor in Thailand,
publicly traded firm) on organizational and financial assessment
for strategic investment/recapitalization. Examined all aspects of
strategy and operations.
. Taught "Supply Chain Management" to MBA students at College of

Contract Manufacturing/Quality Manager PENGUIN COMPUTING, San
Francisco, CA 2001
Penguin Computing was founded in 1999 and was a pioneer Linux company in
the US and aspired to capture entire Linux PC market.
Managed all external contract manufacturing - CM operations, including
managing quality control and managing strategic supplier relationships.
Re-engineered processes and implemented changes (e.g., SAP ERP issues).
Initiated successful outsourcing processes, initiatives and programs.
Successfully outsourced manufacturing and managed CM resulting in
dramatically improved quality and costs.
Directly managed 5 employees. Created/negotiated contracts and metrics.
Implemented cost reduction strategies.
Product Line Manager, Operations HEWLETT-PACKARD / AGILENT, Palo Alto,
CA 1998 - 2001
Promoted three times at HP into roles leading both divisional operations
and corporate strategy teams.
Grew product line capacity 342% through supply agreements, infrastructure
improvements and equipment while in parallel reducing COGS by 68%.
Managed all aspects of operations for Agilent optical semiconductor
product line, including manufacturing, revenue generation (>$70 million),
cost of goods sold, quality, inventory, forecasting, NPI, life cycle
development, cycle times, and delivery. Generated all program
management/supply chain strategy for new products (outsourcing, silicon
commodities, packaging commodities, alliances, capacity, foundry and
manufacturing).
Managed the transfer of operations and manufacturing from Singapore to
Penang, Malaysia and selected CMs (extensive travel to Asia). Managed
product line's global operations and manufacturing teams with a matrix
organization of >100 people.
Product Marketing Manager (Agilent)
. Incremental role to PLM-Operations. Developed product strategy; new
product definition, pricing, competitive analysis/ market research,
contracts, and sales guidance. Improved key customer relationships
including Microsoft, Logitech, and Asian ODMs.
Procurement Specialist / Engineer (HP)
HP Corporate strategic sourcing team on global supply chain; managed
enterprise-wide, global relationships and agreements with suppliers
(contract manufacturing commodity). Negotiated contracts >$100 million
of services.
Coordinated worldwide reviews with businesses, negotiated master
contracts with suppliers. Advised and trained HP (and Agilent) divisions
on global issues and innovations, including Competitive Intelligence,
Benchmarking, Vendor Managed Inventory, and supply chain software
systems. Conducted supplier visits/audits in ten countries.
Researched and wrote strategic "white papers," including CM Strategy
China, South East Asia, Brazil, and Taiwanese ODMs.
