SUMMARY
Dedicated
individual looking for a challenging technical
position where team work and trust can lead to a long
term success. Completed extensive years of experience
in a ISO manufacturing environment, including the last
12 years in the semiconductor industry. Customer
oriented, attentive to detail, individual whom
possesses positive leadership, which enables him to
conduct routine work or new assignments without
general instructions.
EXPERIENCE
1997 to 2009 Applied Materials Austin, Texas
ENGINEERING
TECHNOLOGIST III
Responsible for
testing, troubleshooting, analyzing fault isolations
and calibrating complex integrated circuit fabrication
equipment used to manufacture silicon wafers. Ability
to work with high complex test procedures and
electrical/ electronic schematics, regularly. Daily
assignments consisted of testing or repairing vacuum,
electronic modules, HVAC, gas panel and software
configuration, pneumatic systems, heat exchangers/
chillers, system server software, integrating and
testing 200/ 300 mm process chambers (using BITs
software). General system integration tasks included
platform mainframes, AC racks, troubleshooting
microprocessors (PCB's), configuring factory
interfaces (front ends) with options and multiple sub-
assemblies. Knowledgeable of Yaskawa, Kawasaki and
Newport Kensington robots, ADOe and ADOr, TDK/ pod
door opener knowledge, Flex controller, Dnet system
analysis, XP, VXP, VHP, HP,HP+, PRI robot PM
knowledge. Implemented and instructed platform
certification courses for new technicians and
facilitated 200 mm/ 300 mm system platform projects -
reducing test cycle optimization time. Results were
accumalated to be over 3 days, improving MRP ship
dates. Analyzed factory returns on heat exchanger
units, conferred with management, to determine source
of problems, implemented solutions in priority order,
resulting in a savings of > $150, 000. Wrote OMS's,
complex technical reports on field issues. Traveled to
Singapore to train new technicians and assemblers on
factory interface/ gas panel testing and integration
in 21 days, resulting in a 50 % increase in
production.
CUSTOMER ENGINEER
(GLOBAL PRODUCT SUPPORT)
Worked directly with the
account sales team to conduct field service and
support several off -site system start ups. (locally
and globally) Experienced in training Field Engineers
on etch, dielectric deposition, front end products and
Synetics Volume Organization. Worked directly with the
customer in a design engineering lab environment.
Conducted PM's in the field, worked with global
product engineers on new products. Sent to Japan
(Renesas Fab) to fix down system in fab, in which
assistance was needed to claim the associated
quarterly earnings and get the tool to run wafers.
System repaired and running within 8 hours, meeting
financial expectations.
1995 to 1997 Tellabs Operations, Inc. Austin, Texas
TEST ENGINEER
Performed technical maintenance and supported complex electro -
mechanical process PCB test methodologies through
surface mount technology processes. Designed and
developed ATE, repaired tooling using Metcal, test
fixtures, schematics, and cable harnesses. Provided
technical support daily and communicated with
management on production yields. Trained several
technicians and operators on voice/data network
products and printed circuit board repair per test
engineering specifications which saved $180,000 in bad
parts. Enhanced functional testing and hardware
associated on a daily basis which was supported by the
UNIX platforms. Facilitated projects and recommended
circuits, components, or alternative set-ups for
equipment. Handled engineering change orders, product
transfer documentation, and debugged new and old,
incoming hardware and conducted software testing.
1994 to 1995 M/D Totco Instrumentation, Cedar Park, Texas
CALIBRATION
TECHNICIAN
Calibrated,
assembled and repaired electronic force/load sensor
systems, cells and signal conditioners used for many
types of measurement applications, especially in the
oil industry. Capable of fine pitch soldering for
extremely small strain gages using microscope
soldering technique. Conducted measurement tests
environmentally and mechanically using PLC controller
based systems.
1987 to 1994 EMC Test Systems Austin, Texas
SENIOR ELECTRONIC
TECHNICIAN
Assembled,
repaired, calibrated, supported and installed a
variety of precision electromagnetic/radio-frequency
interference instrumentation, antennas (frequency
range of 10 Hz -30 GHZ) and test accessories used for
mostly VDE/FCC compliance testing. Developed test
procedures for calibration lab and work instructions
to satisfy ISO 9000. Trained and guided technicians in
a leadership role on assembly, lab software/equipment,
RF testing/calibration procedures and traveled for on-
site calibrations and product installations.
Conducted EMI site surveys for local manufacturing
facilities using multiple antennas to detect
interference.
