the world's largest magazine fulfillment company, processing 650 million
pieces for over 260 magazines.
Continuous Improvement/Quality Manager, 2006-2009
Oversee quality for two production facilities and warehouses for 450 FTE.
. Documented all discrepancy errors as of Jan 2009 which resulted in 250
defects/month. Initiated quality initiatives to reduce errors and as
of August 2009 reduced defects to 110 per month for two million pieces
of daily stock. Dropped target defect case discrepancies from 45 cases
to three cases per month.
. Developed new floor and work flow plans that resulted in repositioning
all the work flow. There was zero interruption in production after
moving 50 machines and dropping network cables. Project also included
moving water and air lines, electrical, and Bus and TAG on printers.
Collaborated successfully with ten mechanics, five managers, three IT
personnel, and outside contractors. As a result of the move, workers
appreciated the new arrangement and set new production records.
. Developed and documented department processes where none were in
place. Gathered information from each department to assure accuracy of
information.
. Established Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) teams in Tipton and
Wilton.
Warehouse Manager, 1997-2006
Managed a warehouse of up to 45 FTE including performance reviews and
disciplinary/corrective actions.
. Managed outsourcing to multiple vendors around the country.
Maintaining a supply of material at all site to maintain a 95% on time
delivery.
. Initiated automated shipping procedures that previously were handled
manually and converted the warehouse area to a new barcode system. As
a result, substantially reduced shipping errors and executed a quality
control plan to ensure accuracy of inventory.
. Created and implemented a facility-wide Pay-for-Knowledge plan to
diversify work force. As a result, we were able to move workers to
bottleneck areas.
. Developed lock out/tag out programs as well as a disaster recovery
plan.

Accepted this temporary position to establish the design and layout of a
new facility. Forecasted the operational budget for the initial production
year. Set up schedules and multiple shifts for the print, warehouse, and
