PROJECT MANAGEMENT: REQUIREMENTS/REVIEWS/ANALYSIS
o Defined and tested Global Procurement's specific requirements for the
global reporting system (Transition Management Tool - TMT) used by
IBM's CEO and top executives to monitor IBM's status during the Y2K
transition period. Designed and delivered training to worldwide
General Procurement on the use of the reporting functions of the TMT.
Served in corporate Y2K headquarters in Southbury, Conn. during the
transition period as the First Point of Contact for Global
Procurement. The 100% success of these efforts was recognized by IBM
in 2/2000 with an IBM Corporate Excellence Award for Leadership.
o FCMS Support/Help Desk - Defined, developed, and implemented the
Factory Control Monitoring System (a Manufacturing Execution System)
for the manufacturing line in Fishkill. Completed layouts/designs for
equipment and process requirements, built said requirements into the
system, developed a training package and trained all personnel
(manufacturing, equipment, engineering and management) in the use of
the system. System was online in full production three weeks ahead of
an extremely aggressive schedule. Managed the Help Desk that supported
FCMS on a 24/7 schedule. Maintained a 98% customer satisfaction level
during tenure as manager through the use of First Time Right and a
Continual Improvement Measurement System.
o Production Control - Implemented cost reduction procedures,
implemented job release strategies consistent with improved cycle
time/cost objectives. Produced health of line indicators (Cycle Time
and Serviceability), negotiated and forecasted customer deliveries to
a 95% achievement level.
o Chemical Operations - Managed the department that ordered, stored,
delivered and disposed of all chemicals used in the manufacturing
operations. Directed a multi-million dollar chemical budget and
maintained 100% compliance to IBM/OSHA safety requirements. Served as
liaison to Industrial Hygiene and Safety for any/all safety related
issues and audits.
DETAIL MASTERY & Organization
o Trained and qualified by Quality Management International, Inc. as a
lead ISO/TS 16949 auditor for the NXP East Fishkill site
o Served as the lead auditor on several internal ISO audits of
both the manufacturing organization as well as the support
organizations. Also, served as the Fishkill liaison for multiple
external ISO audits.
o During this period, NXP Fishkill received its ISO/TS 19649
certification
o Responsible for contractual relations between the IBM Corporation and
suppliers of benefits, specifically Medical Services, i.e. the Senior
Executive Wellness Program, Industrial Nurses, and the Flu
Immunization Program.
o Negotiated all aspects of contractual relations including
modification of contract terminology, costs and fees, and
detailed scopes of work as well as the measurable associated
with.
o Used SAP system for Purchase Order generation and to monitor
payment activities and issues between Accounts Payable and the
vendors.
o Audited vendor's compliance to requirements defined in the
Scopes of Work.
