PROJECT EXPERIENCE
. Mass flowmeter: designed and installed a mass flow meter on the
wash column, $25,000 project, to measure the salt production of the
evaporators based on slurry flow rate and density to the filter
wheel
. Ferrate: ran experimental trials producing and stabilizing
potassium ferrate (K2FeO4); project was selected as one of Research
and Developments 100 best projects of the year
. Distillation: designed a series of distillation columns using
ChemCAD to produce specific purity specifications
. Water Systems Concentration of Nitrate and Chloride: tested water
samples using ion selective electrodes from various locations on
and surrounding campus, results were presented in a PowerPoint
presentation to approximately 30 people
. Farm Water: liquid/liquid extraction techniques to remove
phosphate, ammonium, and nitrate from farm water, solution was
concentrated and used in fertilizer
