Relevant University Projects
- Robotic Arm Prototype: This project gathers the implementation of IEEE
802.15.1 technology on the control of a arm through two joysticks.
This system uses communication, two modules of Bluetooth, a
Transceiver AppMod EB500 Module and a Parallax Module, and as the main
controllers, it Parallax Propeller ProRPM microcontrollers indicates
how a mechanism should move from a distance another through the
joysticks, these orders travel from the ADC circuit through the first
microcontroller throughout a connection of bluetooth a
microcontroller, which interprets and sends the information directly
to the servomotors that gathers the mechanism robotic arm. To avoid
any undesired movement that was not commanded by the user using the
joysticks, a digital PID controller was also implemented thru two
feedbac potentiometers attached to the axis of the robotic arm.
conclusion, we have a Robotic Arm that is controlled by a Parallax
Propeller microcontroller that uses Bluetooth technology to receive
data from another Parallax Propeller Microcontroller that interprets
the user's commands thru two analog joysticks.
- Automated Industrial Production Line: This project consisted of
designing and implementing an automated industrial production line
that can separate three kinds of different color objects. The project
used a color detection camera module, an ATmega 128 atmel
microcontroller, a PLC, neumatic pistons, a speed controller designed
with TRIACs, and an AC motor.
4 bit Microcontroller Prototype: using PLDs (GAL32), TTLs (74xx), and
timer oscillators
- Electronic Guitar Prototype: using Basic Stamp Microcontroller to
generate different audio frequencies
- Roover Robot: using a Basic Stamp Microcontroller, DC Motors,
Ultrasonic Sensors, Solar cells. The main object of the project was to
make an autonomous robot that can finish a curve trace with three
checkpoints, detect an object load on the trace, and take the load to
the finish line.
- Ruben's Tube: using a Parallax Propeller Microcontroller, an audio
amplifier made with transistors and opamps, and a medium plastic PBC
tube. The main object of the project was to generate PCM frequencies
with the Propeller Microcontroller, pass the signal on the audio
amplifier, and draw the frequencies on fire on the tube.
