Continuous Improvement Manager
Responsible for establishing and implementing a process that would reduce
returns and identify opportunities for improvements in vendor operations.
. Led the coordinated effort to reduce customer returns by development
and implementation of a program that included IT programmers, Category
Managers and vendor personnel to use data mining (SAS). . .
. Visited numerous supplier plant locations in China, Mexico, Canada and
the US to identify opportunities for improvement. Also participated
in supplier teams to perform detailed planning on Lean projects
ranging from manufacturing to administrative functions. .
Interface with AutoZone customers and vendors to identify problems and
apply product engineering knowledge to resolve them.
. Led the implementation of a program for direct imports that would

Assurance aspects of the operation of a business that shipped approximately
$450 million of small kitchen appliances to customers like Wal-Mart, K-
Mart, Target, Sears, Bed Bath & Beyond, Family Dollar, Dollar General, etc.

Responsible for leading, planning and managing the consolidation of 8-10
satellite small parts distribution
warehouses. I was responsible for selection of personnel that included 3
technicians at the main warehouse and 6 at satellite locations. I prepared
for QS9000 audit in Q401 and was a customer liaison for problem resolution.

Quality Control Manager
Responsible for managing 12-15 exempt and hourly personnel from incoming
inspection, process/product audits, and warranty reviews.
. Led effort to reduce warranty costs by approximately $750K of major
product lines for L10 heads, water pumps and turbo-chargers.
. Upgraded metrology /measurements lab capacity that improved gage
calibration capability.
. Headed team to make systematic improvements that won Ford Q1 Award.
. Acted as liaison to key suppliers-both internal and external.
. Led effort to computerize receiving inspection, which reduced incoming
inspections.

exempt & non-exempt personnel that included incoming inspection, vendor
