Results driven, enthusiastic Senior Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager

with 10 years experience in fast paced manufacturing, complex facility

operations, infrastructure upgrades, and fossil fired power plant

engineering. Excel at analyzing facility operations and procedures to

generate new ideas while improving efficiency along with production

quality. Highly adaptable to ever changing circumstances. Enjoy working

with new challenges and a key member in any team.

Professional Experience

Bristol Myers Squibb, Wallingford, CT.

2003 - Present

Project Manager 2004 - Present

Manage multiple complex projects and annual 10 to 15 million dollar

capital budget. Developed and initiated several innovative energy

savings projects to comply with the company's energy saving

initiative. Projects included air compressor optimization, deionized

water pump horsepower reduction, boiler feed water pump control, and

air handler fan capacity reduction. Assist with day to day site

operations including the power plant, to continually evolve an

efficient and sustainable facility.

Key achievements:

. Completed several energy savings projects ahead of the

projected completion date to achieve energy savings of

$180,000 per year.

. Designed and managed the utility plant deaerator and

condensate receiver tank replacement. The tank system

was automated using PLC control.

. Redesigned the boiler feed water system using variable

speed drives and PLC control to increase reliability and

energy savings.

. Designed and managed the complete overhaul of the

cogeneration system gas compressor skid. A new control

system and major piping modifications where installed to

eliminate system trips, increased uptime and allowed for

better system control. Energy to operate the compressor

was reduced as a result from the project.

. Developed Black start testing procedure to train

operation and maintenance staff to start facility without

power from the local utility. This testing showed the

short comings of the emergency and gas turbine power

system.

Senior Maintenance / Reliability Engineer 2003 - 2007

Managed the preventative maintenance program for the one million

square foot research facility including the site power plant.

Developed and supervised multiple capital projects per year while

staying within project budgets. Oversaw in house maintenance and

operational staff to continually develop the preventative maintenance

program to insure accuracy. Supervised numerous site wide maintenance

contracts including the site water chemical treatment program, high

voltage switch gear maintenance, and site PLC maintenance.

Key achievements:

. Redeveloped the preventative maintenance program using

Maximo CMMS software to enhance the care and reliability

of the site critical equipment.

. Performed FMEA process to determine proper maintenance

for critical equipment.

CHRISTOPHER S. SIROIS

. Implemented and stream lined several predictive

maintenance programs such as infrared testing, vibration

analysis, ultrasonic testing, laser alignment, electrical

monitoring, and steam trap testing.

. Performed Root Cause failure analysis on failing

equipment to improve equipment reliability.

. Trained the site maintenance staff to perform maintenance

functions properly such as bearing replacements,

machinery lubrication, and rotating equipment alignment.

. Developed and managed the installation of a site wide PLC

network that connected all of the PLC controlled

equipment together which allowed for the collection of

important operational data for analysis. The project

also allowed for viewing the utility plant operation

remotely from any internet connection in the world.

MeadWestvaco, Rumford, ME

1998 - 2003

Project Engineer / Maintenance Planner.

Developed a new preventative maintenance program for the pulp mill and

the power plant using SAP software. Planned and supervised daily

maintenance work for the 15 man power plant union maintenance crew.

Managed multiple contractors for capital improvement projects and

month long equipment outages. These projects included redesigning

pumping/piping systems, upgrading coal conveyor systems, boiler and

steam turbine overhauls. Assisted with the day to day power plant

operations and maintenance.

Key Achievements:

. Redesigned and supervised the overhaul of two boiler ash

conveyors and one bucket elevator with in house

maintenance staff in order to improve reliability, reduce

downtime of the systems all while saving $1 million in

lost production.

. Developed a maintenance and change control program for

non condensable gas boilers and auxiliary equipment to

comply with state gas emission regulations.

. Managed and planned several multimillion dollar power

plant shutdowns for yearly maintenance, equipment

overhauls, and equipment upgrades.

. Oversaw the maintenance program for the steam turbine

power generation equipment.

. Developed new maintenance procedures to prevent boiler

tube leaks in coal and biomass boilers. These procedures

increased the boiler uptime to save millions.
