Business Intelligence Analyst
[Dec'05-Jan'10]
Migration of Business Objects from ver. 6.5 to ver. 11. Work involved
Assessment, Planning and deployment of Business Object Universes from
existing environment to new Data Warehouse Storefront. Generated POC
reports for Universe Migration, Designing Universes and create test
cases for reporting.
Gathered and analyzed requirements (functional, technical) from
business users. Planned the design and development of reports per
organization standards. Worked on multiple data providers. Extensively
researched and tested universes and involved in performance tuning of
reports.
Analysis and operations for multi terabyte (10+) data warehouse, data
feeds sourced from various sources. Data ingested on daily, weekly and
monthly basis, performed analysis for adding new feeds and scheduling.
Captured metrics to cut down the ETL time and improvise load
performance. Developed heartbeat query to capture user queries at and
interval to analyze usage.
Designed and developed Enterprise wide Reports using SAS BI suite.
Authored BI report specifications for line of business clients.
Perform Analysis for creating OLAP cubes, reporting and tables meet
client requirements for these reports. Coded algorithms for computing
health benefit coverage metrics (new sales, enrollment,
dis-enrollment, cancellation, in/out migration).
Architected SAS BI reports - dashboard publishing on Web portal.
Design Logical/Physical Data Models & Develop ETL Process to Load
Oracle Data in a SAS Datamart. Develop OLAP Reports via OLAP Cube
Studio, Information Map Studio, SAS Enterprise Guide 3.
Analyzed data for building Enterprise Data Warehouse, activities
included data profiling, mapping and RI checks between source
copybooks and source files that populate IDS entities ensuring Data
Quality. Primary Contact for monthly validation of data load into the
data warehouse by generation of ODS reports and reconciliation against
corporate monthly membership reports created by actuarial department.
Designed and developed ETL process for Lab Results Data Mart, a SAS
data repository, used for analytical and care management reporting
needs that included HEDIS and disease management. This data mart
contained member lab test results data, from laboratories that have
agreed to provide Blue Shield with monthly data feeds. The Lab results
data mart contains 3 to 4 years of lab test results data for a large
subset of Blue Shield HMO and PPO members.

[Feb'05-Oct'2005]
Developing the statistical analyst report for disease management
dedicated to improving clinical outcomes for individuals, providing
decision support for physicians, and reducing costs for payers. Work
activities involves:
Worked on generating Quarterly Reports for Insurance companies. Risk
Analysis reports was created to show the effectiveness of
interventions, proving the program s value to clients. Reports
summarize the statistics on population overview, program
participation, mailings, monitoring, co morbidities, clinical
Indicators.
Worked on developing statistical analysis to rationalize population
identification, patients compliance for lab tests, medication use, lab
values, and immunizations, the key drivers for reducing insurance
costs. The added benefit of meeting the clinical guidelines improved
the overall health of patients.
Worked extensively with SAS Macros and Transact-SQL Queries for
generating Clinical Indicators quarterly reports. These reports are
designed to show the trends in clinical indicators over four periods.
Worked on project for transferring Weekly data from SQL Server to XML
file through ftp to the client. This involved replicating and mapping
the XML xsd schema to SQL tables and generating XML data files from
the SQL tables using queries, surrogate key given by the client.
Adhoc queries generated by creating pivot tables from SQL tables and
converting it to reports on Reporting Services
Building Cubes, Data Analysis and Data Mining using SQL Server
Analysis Server.
Roche Pharmaceuticals

Software Consultant
[Feb'03-Nov'03]
Dept of Biomathematics at Roche is the primary group involved in
Stastical Design, Modeling, Data collection, storage and Analysis for
in-vivo, in-vitro and clinical data.
Biomath Laboratory Automated Stastical Tool (BLAST) A PC based SAS
application analyzing data from Excel file, creating tables and
graphs, and updating database of raw and summary data. Work activities
involved:
Designed and Developed Statistical Software Analysis using SAS:
operations performed included reading input data, checking number of
concentration/dose of each compound, computing statistical data,
outputting the results to graphs (Spotfire), tables and storing data
into the Oracle database.
Web-enabled BLAST system using SAS/IntrNet and CGI, this project
involved helping scientists enter research data on browser, and
creating reports and graphs based on the latest data. SQL Queries were
dynamically run whenever the request was made using the browser.
Developed Reusable Stastical library and decision tree for modeling
data using SAS Macros.
Developed an Automated tool using Excel Visual Basic Macros and
ActivityBase client application to read, extract and validate raw
assay data files. Also, wrote ActivityBase program to store derived
results to oracle database.
Developed Excel spreadsheet multi-variate, multi-day template for
complex computational intensive data analysis. Visual differentiation
provided using color coding, schema.

[Jan'99 - Jan'01]
Instinx Pro (Workforce and Process Automation Technology): Hospitals
communicate information in MEDITECH about a patient s visit between
multiple users in different departments using Instinx PRO, a complete
workflow driven solution with automated and personalized process.
System was developed using a 2-tier architecture, where the backend
database was SQL Server, while the GUI and the business logic was
implemented in Visual Basic
VB based GUI design for interface to input patient information. Work
involved designing and development of Visual Basic forms for the front
end users.
Developed application using Crystal Reports for Hospital Management
systems, which would enable users to generate graphical reports with
data from disparate systems for publishing via web/fax/email/print and
to schedule to run automatically. Application could connect to any
ODBC/OLE DB databases and query via integration services.
Designed the tables, and created a generic API for database access for
storing patient s medical records in SQL server. Developed queries for
retrieving information.
