EXPERIENCE - Miles/Bayer/Siemens Inc., Elkhart, IN
1964-1970; Worked as Laboratory Technician for the Miles Chemical Division.
Work consisted of organic chemistry process development.
1970 -1974: Worked as Assistant Research Scientist, Molecular Biology
Department. Work consisted of physical chemical characterization of
synthetic polynucleotides.
1974 - 1979; Worked as Associate Research Scientist, Research Products
Division. I developed and supported various biochemical and
electrophoresis products.
1979 - 2003; Worked as a Research Scientist for the Diagnostics Division
of Bayer. I developed both chemical and immunochemical dry reagent test
strips for human diagnostic use. Marketed products include Seralyzer
Theophylline, Seralyzer Phenytoin, Seralyzer Phenobarbital, Seralyzer
Digoxin, and Multistix ProTM Urine Chemistry Reagent Strips.
After early retirement on 7/30/2003 up to 11/30/2007, I worked part time
for Bayer/Siemens as a consultant/researcher in the development of
immunodiagnostic tests for new analytes of future medical interest.
Present Purpose
I would like to use my scientific skills to contribute productively. I
realize that I retired too early and would like reverse this situation. I
have good writing and communicative skills as well as good working
knowledge of word processor and spreadsheet programs.
