Teaches, researches, and analyzes all aspects of the Persian Farsi -Dari
culture. Serves primarily as a Farsi-Dari Linguist for all military
personnel for preparation of deployments and redeployments and also works
for other government security agencies, i.e., FBI, CIA, etc. as a Middle
East, South Asia and religion subject matter expert. Conducts periodic
reviews and evaluations of translated materials and documents to the best
of a linguist's knowledge and abilities. Provides a motivating environment
for supported linguists and works with military personnel as a culture
advisor, specifically to the Commanding General. Strong expertise in
educational development on developing countries; monitors and evaluates
programs with excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal
skills. The job of a cultural advisor requires both tactical proficiency
and technical expertise. Must interact with others and advise on the
mission and other operating environments and other countries as part of
reconstruction efforts which may require a different demonstration of
advisor behaviors in the classroom setting. Communicates through
interpreter, evaluates trustworthiness of interpreter, and conducts
meetings with interpreter. Actively listens to individuals from another
culture. Conducts over 400-500 cultural briefings per month.

Assisted the Visa Office as an interpreter processing for World Bank Staff
which required use of Farsi Language. Interpreted information between
Iranian Embassy and World Bank Visa Office which included translating
documents from Iranian government for visa processing to ensure
individuals' documents were correct. Trained World Bank staff going to
Iran on the culture, religion, and politics/Dari.
