Experience:
National Accounts Manager, ACME Distribution Inc. (2007 to Present) I
manage accounts from multiple sources representing products from grocery,
alcohol, toys and lighting to various retail establishments globally.
Geography Instructor, North West Arkansas Community College, (2008 to
Present) I currently instruct students in human, physical, and world
geography.
Social Science Instructor. Arkansas State University-Beebe Branch (2001 to
Present). I currently teach Physical Geography, World Regional Geography,
U.S. History, World Civilizations, Arkansas History, and various education
classes at the main campus and at the Little Rock Air Force Base. These
classes are currently taught via Internet.
Gifted and Talented Facilitator (REACH Program), Rogers Public Schools,
(2008 to 2009) Instructed and planned curriculum for Enrichment classes
(K-2) and a full pull-out GT program (3-5) at Garfield, Northside and Old
Wire Road Elementary campuses. Screen students for possible placement in
the REACH Program. Conducted various inservices on gifted/talented issues.
Gifted and Talented Facilitator. Gentry Public Schools. (2007 to 2008)
Instruct and plan curriculum for Enrichment classes at Gentry Primary
School (K-2) and a full pull-out program at Gentry Intermediate School (3-
5). Other than instruction of GT Curriculum, I was responsible for
screening of students for the GT Pull-out Program or to be included in the
Talent Pool. I was also responsible for staff development for GT awareness
and I also served as the educational liaison for training in Arkansas
History.
Social Sciences Teacher and Gifted & Talented Facilitator. Cabot Junior
High South. (1995 to 2007) As a teacher at CJHS, I have served as G/T
Facilitator, Pre-AP Social Studies lead teacher and inclusion teacher. I
have taught Geography, American History, Arkansas History, and Civics. I
have also served as sponsor of the Yearbook, and served as Quiz Bowl and
Knowledge Master Coach; as well as sponsor of Student Council and the
National Junior Honor Society.
Geography Instructor. University of Central Arkansas. (2006 to 2007). I
teach Introduction to Geography for students who are majoring in education.
I also serve on the state geography steering committee representing higher
education.
Social Science Teacher. North Little Rock Public Schools. Ridgeroad Middle
School. (1994-1995). Courses taught included geography and Pre-AP
American History. I also served as Student Council Sponsor, COE Committee
Chair, and Secondary Representative for the Desegregation Team.
Student Teacher. Cabot Junior High South. (1993). Courses taught
included geography, Arkansas History, and American History.
Store Manager. Toys 'R Us #7818. North Little Rock, Arkansas. (1990-
1991). Responsibilities included supervision of all areas of operation
within a major retail store. Coordination of job duties for up to 150
employees. Maintained all personnel and benefit packages as well as other
Human Resource initiatives. Trained employees in all aspects of operation.
Monitored all loss prevention and safety relations issues. Extensive
training in Effective Management Skills.
Employment Counselor/Talent Development Specialist. Association of
Rehabilitation, Industry and Business Inc., Department of Education.,
Project with Industry. (1988-1990). Screened applicants for possible
employment into the workplace, conducted employment skills classes and
supervised On the Job Training. Served as an advocate for Rehabilitation
Services and the Office for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired. Worked closely
with federal, state, and local agencies, as well as business' and industry
in the local area and nationally. Counseled employers about the American's
with Disabilities Act (ADA), Targeted Job Tax Credit (TJTC), and On the Job
Training (OJT), and renovation procedures for Federal and State agencies
were done on a regular basis.
Job Developer. North Central Arkansas Development Council Inc., Arkansas
Employment Security Division. (1986-1988). Screened and interviewed
candidates for JTPA eligibility, and employment eligibility verification.
Conducted employment training classes for prospective employees. Worked
with Human Resource Officers and training representatives. Supervised
approximately 260 participants in five program areas of operation. Worked
closely with all State and Federal Agencies. Served as a counselor with
participants regarding employment prospects. Worked closely with all area
business' regarding incentive programs that JTPA can assist. Worked
closely with all area schools, colleges, and vocational technical schools
regarding the training of participants.
