Administrative and Technical Supervision of Substations (28 Nos.) And their lines in service

and Monitoring the progress of Substations at 3 locations under construction. Provide

Technical assistance, quality control, and direction to craft, in relation to operation and

maintenance of Sub-Stations and power lines. Coordinated crafts needs for both construction

and commissioning of Substations and lines on schedules and budgets. Advised senior

executives and the crafts of Engineers on staffing and equipment requirements. Planned,

prioritized, and staffed projects at the site level. Managed company staff over 350 nos. and

contract staff over 100 nos. Total project cost $ 50 million.

Position: Deputy Chief Engineer, Idukki Hydro ElectricProject, Moolamattom(Nov07-Oct

08)It is an Indo-Canada Project(780 MW) where provided administrative and technical

supervision of Staff over 210 nos. in the operation and maintenance activities. Planning,

Scheduling and budgeting of Annual maintenance and shut down maintenance of the plant and

substation. Supervision and technical support for the commissioning works of 10.5MW project at

Malankara. Super- Vision of Operation and maintenance of” Vadakkepuzha “pumping Scheme.

Forwarding of Daily/monthly/yearly /power generation and outage details of Plant s and

substations to the concerned.

Position: Executive Engineer (Mechanical Maintenance) (July 2003-October 2007)

Provide technical support for the maintenance of Turbines, Governors and water conductor-

System of Power Generators in the Plant. Verify the operator’s diary in the control room to

assure that the operation of turbines, governor system and water conductor system are normal.

Position: Assistant Executive Engineer (Excitation/Generation) (June 1994-June2003)

Provided technical support to Engineers and technicians for the routine and shutdown

maintenance of Excitation system of the Power Generators. Provided technical support to staff

to detect and solve the mal operation of control system instruments and wiring. Administrative

and technical supervision of shift engineers and technicians in the shift crew(75 Nos.) in the

power plant operations. Monitor and control the load of Generators and feeders according to

the system requirement.

Position: Assistant Engineer (Electrical) (July1992-May1994)

Preparation of work schedules, plan and budgets for the operation and the maintenance of

780MWPower station and220KVsubstation.Drafting of business and technical letters to work

contractors and suppliers of spares needed in the plant and substation. Verification of work

Position: Assistant Engineer, Transmission Maintenance, Kothamangalam (Oct1990-June92)

Survey of route for drawing power lines (220KV) for a distance of 40miles, from power station

to substation. Fixing of tower locations and making stub settings. Preparation of tree cutting

notice and make tenders for tree cutting.

Position: Assistant Engineer, Protective Relays, Idukki Power Plant (March1984-Aug.88)

Testing of relays and control circuits for commissioning of Generators (130MW/3Nos.) and

220KVsubstation including power lines. Attended the system fault and rectification works at

various Power stations and substations. Inspection of control wirings of Generators,

Transformers, substation equipments for commissioning and maintenance.
