WORK EXPERIENCE

Robert Half : Data Analyst (Consulting with Nielsen), 2010 - Currently

working

Responsibilities include understanding the recruitment questionnaire,

tables in the database and doing ODM recruitment periodic analysis using

SQL queries in SQL Server & consolidating data in excel. The analysis is

done to get the demographic breakdown of recruitment data using pivot in

excel. The report is generated on a daily basis. Also generate other

reports as per the requirements given by diff. Depts.

Writing SQL queries to test the processed data and ensure that the

crediting rules have been correctly applied on the server logs data.

Test the Cognos Reports by writing SQL queries and comparing the results.

Wrote sql queries to find out panelists/meter data, analyzed data and

generated reports to give meter related information and also detailed

demographic information of panelists.

Wrote & executed test cases to test the meter functionality on Android

phone. Analyzed the data in the tables to ensure that correct data is

Xactly Corporation : Sr. QA Engineer (Analytics), 2008 - 2009

Owned the analytics product end to end testing which included doing Impact

Analysis based on FRD's / requirements from PM/ Design documents, defining

QA test plans, writing test scenarios, test cases, preparing data required

for test execution and executing the test cases. Analyzed the test results

and ensured that the results were as expected. Testing was done for ETL

application (Informatica PowerCenter) used to load the DW, Reports (OBIEE)

& web-based application using different browsers.

Documented bug issues (using Bugzilla) in Xactly Analytics product and also

performed analysis to determine the root cause of the issue. Debugged the

code. Took initiative in looking at the existing ETL code &

Reports/metrics. Suggested ways of improving the code in terms of cleaning

up unused objects, making sure that the mappings met certain standards &

were consistent with the requirements, gave suggestions to PM for better

naming of the report metrics. Raised bugs for discrepancies & enhancement

requests. Did builds & deployed ETL, Rpd & UI code.

Wrote SQL Scripts to test data in the tables (backend testing Oracle Db).

These scripts were also written to do some regression testing & upgrade

is the source for Xactly Analytics Product. For any new features in

Informatica Corporation: Software Engineer, 2001- 2008

Performed cross team installer testing for the entire product (including

PC, DA & MM) for release (8.1.0). Provided important feedback to the

respective teams & filed bugs to report the issues which helped in

improving the quality of the product.

Performed cross team Beta testing for Data Analyzer 5.0 Cyclone(BI tool)

product as an internal Beta customer. Did multiple installations and tested

new features /regression at a very detailed level to validate the product.

Identified & filed over 100 bugs and provided an extremely valuable

feedback to the PA team. Efforts were highly appreciated.

Developed reports, charts, indicators & dashboards in Data Analyzer (BI

tool) for Data profiling tool named Informatica Data Explorer. These

reports would help customers do analysis on main features of data profiling

like column profiling, pattern analysis, etc.

Worked with Product Management to enhance & maintain existing Powercenter

repository reports.

Provided support to customer reported Metadata Manager related issues which

include fixing the ETL code. Worked with customer support to resolve

customer issues and ensured timelines were met.

Enhanced MM product by developing PowerCenter 8 XConnect code / ETL

mappings using Powercenter 8.0 which enabled the new features in the Zeus

release.

Mgt. reporting data to business users to meet key reporting and decision

making needs. WFM IM solution consisted of one central worldwide DW and

three regional Data marts. Informatica was used for extracting data from

clarify (CRMS) & loading into the DW (Oracle 8i). WFM IM Data mart

(SqlServer 7) was the interface provided to end users. It contained case

level aggregate data. Some of the major responsibilities included ETL

development for DW & DM using Informatica PC ETL tool & testing the loaded

data. Also created reports using Brio & Access for the business users.

Provided support to field production teams.

Worked on several several other projects. Responsibilities included

development of customer reports as well as migration of one entire

solution from SQLServer to Oracle.
