I have more than 36 years of experience in the chemical, petrochemical,
refining, pulp and paper, and light commercial building industry. With 27
of those years in project management concerning construction estimates,
planning/scheduling, monitoring project cost and progress, preparing change
orders and taking subcontractor bids for work. I am proficient in planning
and scheduling and am adept in the use of Microsoft Office software as well
as Lotus Suite, Primavera P3 and P5, Microsoft Projects, Open Plan, and the
mainframe based programs MPAC and PRIZM. I have also had exposure and some
use of Monte Carlo and Pertmaster risk assessment programs for schedule
accuracy and possibility of success. This diversified background has
provided me with the knowledge and experience to successfully execute a
wide variety of assignments, including Time & Material, Fixed Fee, and Lump
sum.
Representative assignments include:
. Project Controls Manager, URS, SCR Retrofit Project, Philadelphia, PA:
Facilitated a planning session to develop a schedule to track the
engineering progress, issued staffing and progress curves, as well as
a written analysis of the schedule detailing the critical path.
Compiled cost reports showing where the project was on cost and
prepared an analysis of the report for the client. Developed and
issued Level 1 Milestone reports, developed and maintained a change
order log, and a trend report. This was a lump sum project.
. Project Controls Manager, URS, GBR Upgrade, Suncor, Denver, CO:
Developed a schedule to track the engineering progress, issued
staffing and progress curves, as well as a written analysis of the
schedule. Compiled cost reports showing the project cost and prepared
an analysis of the report for the client. Developed and issued Level 1
Milestone reports, developed and maintained a change order log, and a
trend report. This was joint effort between URS, Washington Group, and
TCE Engineering.
. Project Controls Manager, URS, Stormwater Upgrade Detail Design,
Marathon Refining, Detroit, MI: Facilitated a planning session to
develop a schedule to track the engineering progress, issued staffing
and progress curves, as well as a written analysis of the schedule.
Compiled cost reports showing the project cost expenditures and
prepared an analysis of the report for the client. Developed and
issued Level 1 Milestone reports, developed and maintained a change
order log, and a trend report for purchased equipment.
. Project Controls Manager, URS, VSCR Wastewater Treatment Plant
Upgrade, Valero, St. Charles, LA: Facilitated a planning session to
develop a schedule to track the engineering progress, issued staffing
and progress curves, as well as a written analysis of the schedule.

. Project Controls Cost Specialist, Jacobs Special Projects Team, This
Team provided engineering for multiple clients, Conoco, Lake Charles,
LA; Motiva, Convent, LA; Kerr McGee, Hamilton, MS; Borden Chemicals,
Baytown, TX and Geismar, LA; Citgo Asphalt Refining, Savanah, GA. As
Cost Engineer duties required were receiving and checking invoices,
input of project budgets, TIC trending, tracking and forecasting
project cost with input from discipline leads, and maintaining an
accurate account of hours and dollars spent on all projects.
. Project Controls Engineer, Conoco-Philips Belle Chase, LA, Control
Room Replacement and Control System Upgrade Projects. As Project
Controls Engineer duties included building, maintaining, and
progressing the project schedule which included all phases from FEL-1
thru construction, creation of manpower staffing and progress curves
and their tracking, producing level 1 milestones and required reports.
. Cost Engineer, Marathon Ashland Petroleum Catlettsburg, KY, HRU
Emissions Control Project, Bact Heaters Project, and FCCU Detroit
Heaters. As Cost Engineer duties required were receiving and checking
invoices, input project budgets, tracked and forecasted project cost
with input from discipline leads, and input and worked issues with
Change Orders.
. Senior Planner/Scheduler, Marathon Ashland Petroleum Catlettsburg, KY,
RCC Conversion Project. As Senior Planner/Scheduler duties involved
setting project priorities, preparing manpower/duration projections,
monitoring, and reporting progress, establishing and maintaining data
graph for Isometrics produced and sent to fabricator, and a graph for
fabricated piping to site.
. Senior Planner/Scheduler, Motiva, Convent, LA and Norco, LA, LSG OSBL
Projects. Joined project at 38% complete, took control of existing
project scheduling duties. Began preparing TIC estimate for a backlog
of Change Orders and incorporated them into the existing schedule so
that they could be tracked. Adjusted staffing projections to account
for the increase in manpower demands caused by the Change Orders and
informed the project engineer.
. Turnaround Planner/Scheduler, ExxonMobil, Baton Rouge, LA, Ethylene
Debottlenecking Project - DB3, TIC total $177mm. Duties involved
scheduling and setting up new ExxonMobil tracking systems for project.
Developed manpower projections and progress curves, monitored progress
of project, issued progress reports, attended weekly progress meeting
with client. Project was completed on schedule.
. Construction/Turnaround Planner/Scheduler, Pioneer Chlor-Alkai, St.
Gabriel, LA, Chlorine Cell House Upgrade Project. Duties primarily
involved planning daily work activities for foreman on both shifts,
tracking progress, material expediting, and material control. This was a
small turnaround with the bulk of the scheduling and cost control having
to do with industrial hygiene, due to the mercury contamination.
. Construction/Turnaround Planner/Scheduler/Cost Engineer/Estimator,
ExxonMobil Baton Rouge, La, Assigned to BRAPM group for mid size
construction projects ranging from $100k to $20m. Duties included
performing drawing takeoffs, preparing budget proposals, issuing request
for bids on work, supervising subcontractors, working with client
resolving construction/engineering problems, planning daily work
activities, tracking progress, preparing reports and attending weekly
update meetings with client, and compiling documentation for field
change orders.
. Project Planner, KLEA 1334A Turnaround and Exxon Chemical Project
Management Group for Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc. Duties involved
development of a pre-shutdown and a shutdown schedule. Continuing
duties included updating, preparing, and issuing schedules, progress
curves, daily work lists.
. Maintenance Turnaround Coordinator, NITRIC Acid, Aniline/NB, MDI-1 and
MDI-2 units. Duties included receiving bids and supervising
subcontractors, ordering materials required for projects, preparing and
issuing schedules, and issuing a closing report for the turnarounds with
schedule and cost information.
. Planner/Scheduler - assigned to daily turnaround duties for Capital
projects. Responsible for Polyols Unit start-up and MDI-2 unit start-
up, daily planning and scheduling for the NITRIC Acid unit, Aniline/NB
plant and the Effluent Waste Disposal unit.
. Planner/Scheduler - Capital projects crew and maintenance crew.
Responsible for developing a CPM logic schedule, estimating and planning
outstanding maintenance work request items, coordinating resource
requirements, monitoring progress, and reporting progress to the client.
