Google Search:

Search on www.imf.org was changed in spring 2008 from Verity k2 to Google

Search Appliance. GSA 5.0 was used for indexing the tagged content for site

search and search from within site.

The interface is Google type results on ASP.Net 2.0 and sends a response

based on the site scope of the search and gets an XML which is parsed to

display the results.

Google LOE Search: Developed search for content in languages other than

English. Calls are made to the Google collections configured for content in

languages other than English.

Policy Papers: The internal application that allows site managers to pull

information from web services exposed by the document management team. The

data is pulled using BDC(Business Data Catalog) and uses the lists and web

parts to perform custom actions such as edit, preview and publish through

SharePoint Custom application Page. The custom application page exposes the

meta data and allows users to modify and add documents (policy papers) to

be published on www.imf.org with additional meta data

The solution is using custom ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server 2005 and Web Service

for rendering it on the external site.

IMF Institute: is a custom application on www.imf.org that allows users to

search courses based on their preferred language, title & category. They

can also apply for courses online. The (internal) application, which runs

every night as Windows Service pulls course details from PeopleSoft and

inserts into SQL Server.

The data is pulled into SharePoint 2007 using custom web services and

available to users through BDC as Lists and web parts for custom actions.

This external application uses ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server 2005 to display the

processed data on the web.
