I excel at turning complexities into simple solutions. Developing and
delivering products on time and to budget, I continuously improve quality
and cut costs in high volume manufacturing environments. Knowledgeable in
multiple manufacturing processes, I drive standards and process
improvements to boost productivity.
As a hands-on engineer who enjoys collaborating with others, my
professional strengths include:
o Providing engineering support to resolve complex manufacturing issues
o Reducing downtime to significantly improve cost containment
o Building collaborative relationships with vendors and team members
o Developing strategy and models to solve quality issues
o Performing operative root cause analysis to provide innovative
solutions
I hold a BS in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
I am familiar with Six Sigma methodologies. My strong communication skills,
both written and verbal, allow me to win cooperation at all levels.
Personable and good natured, I build exceptional customer relationships.
SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Facilitated successful equipment launch. Asked to review and evaluate setup
of new equipment at World Kitchen from a process/operator standpoint.
Identified need for air pressure and water flow gauges. Labeled directions
for 3-axis positioning of equipment. Enabled operators to monitor/adjust
settings as needed.
Introduced quality improvements. Final product at Gates Corporation from
plating line had surface defects. Identified and determined barrels were
trapping solution from tanks and contaminating finished parts. Collaborated
with plant engineer to implement tag system. Reduced product contamination
by 75%.
Optimized process requirements. Assigned task of improving outdated
horizontal barrel plating line at Delphi Interiors. Managed vendor
inspections and reviews. Defined and optimized process recipes for 50 parts
variations to meet specifications. Finished task two weeks ahead of
schedule and within process specifications.
Implemented process improvements, decreasing downtime. Recognized small
container loading system at Delphi tended to jam and fail on new plating
line. Analyzed situation to determine swift course of action. Modified and
improved existing design, collaborating with facilities team. Immediately
decreased conveyor jams by 50%.
CAREER HISTORY
Process Engineer, World Kitchen, 2008 to 2010, glass manufacturer. Managed
six glass forming production lines. Conducted run reviews of completed
jobs, reducing process variation for next run. Slashed downtime and
increased quality. Audited equipment status. Updated documentation to
reflect current practices.
Contract Engineer, Gates Corporation, 2008, agricultural equipment
manufacturer. Contracted for problem-solving assistance on acid zinc
plating line. Identified key equipment problems during processing.
Delphi Interiors, Fortune 500 automotive parts manufacturer, 1997 to 2008:
Process Engineer, Gadsden, Alabama. Directed daily manufacturing support,
including training operations and maintenance personnel. Collaborated
with vendors domestically and abroad, in Germany and the U.S. Launched
four new foam molding lines. Created preventative maintenance schedules
for foam system equipment. Documented support of control plans.
Process Engineer, Columbus, Ohio. Promoted to Process Engineer position
of increased responsibility. Managed HAZMAT, project management support,
and performance maintenance for automotive door latch hardware. Trained
operations personnel. Met all process specifications under deadlines and
pressure.
Forming Process Engineer, Troy, Michigan. Gained valuable skills in
research and development. Supported urethane door technology research for
new products.
