Honda of America Mfg., (HAM) is located in Ohio State and manufactures

cars. HAM plants are using the proprietary data for production control

of its products by using DB2, EDI interface. The responsibilities at

Honda include supporting critical applications on a daily basis along

with providing solutions for enhancements and implementing change

requests.

CPCS - Change Point Control System provides the interface to thousands

of Suppliers and Honda users in reducing the warranty costs when

market actions occur on potential problem vehicles due to part design

changes and helps in isolating such vehicle VIN numbers.

CQP - Challenge Quality Portal provides the Auto Quality team at Honda

in managing warranty and claims data of vehicles. Both Suppliers and

Honda users are benefited by the warranty claim process and are

critical to business.

eDCIS - Electronic Design Change Instruction Sheet system provides

Honda Associates and Suppliers to manage design changes by the

creation, routing completion and updating of design change Instruction

sheet electronically via the supplier portal.

SST - Supplier Support Team at Honda uses the SST system on portal to

conduct trainings for suppliers about various Honda process.

Currently OnStar marketing team owns OnStar websites and applications.

These websites and applications are developed by different vendors,

according to their standards and are maintained and hosted by vendors

at their locations. The application OnStarrenewals.com is used by the

OnStar subscribers to renew their OnStar plans through the web. OnStar

Vehicle Diagnostics which is a part of the OnStar Renewals is the

first automatic diagnostic systems check and monthly report service,

now available on most new GM vehicles. OnStar collects diagnostic

information about the vehicle's key operating system about every 30

days while you drive. After each data collection, you'll receive a

report and any scheduled maintenance alerts by email. OVD project

involved in implementation of change requests through deployments

every two months.

Responsibilities:

. The requirements for change requests was provided in the form

of narrative documents and I was involved in understating the

narratives

. Document the queries that arouse from the narrative documents

and send the queries to the business to have a clear

understanding of the changes requests

. Keeping track of the open queries

. Update the System Requirement Specification (SRS) document with

the business requirements. The narratives and the query

clarifications becomes the input to the SRS document

architectural changes that may occur due to the change request.

This involves modification to the architectural diagrams/ use

case diagrams and their realizations.

6. Asset Recovery System 1.5

ARS is a system for access by users from GM and select suppliers that

enables an efficient Asset Recovery Process.

The Global Asset Recovery team suggests that the asset disposal

process takes too long and is cumbersome to execute, with users

frequently required to process large number of asset disposals

manually and required to follow up multiple times.

The existing Asset Recovery System Ver 1.4 was designed and developed

by Covisint and later migrated to the Global Web Hosting environment.

While using the existing system, users identified new requirements to

meet their daily needs, without which users daily work is impacted

adversely.

ARS 1.5 made it easier to perform the Asset Recovery Process within GM

by facilitating streamlined Asset disposal and Asset Recovery

processes.

The original purpose of the Process Risk Management (PRM) project was

to provide common user interface for GM audit service users spread

across globally with centralized repository. This project involved

deploying a personalized web application to upload the audit findings

into central repository. The intent of this project was to make GM

Process Risk Management (PRM) application to be web based, so that it

can be accessible globally. In addition, this project incorporated the

commonly used functionality from the current system and a more

flexible architecture to support the evolution of a tool that will be

the primary mechanism for access to web interactions between Non-GM

Automotive users as well as Joint Venture partners.
