Smoky Mountain Materials Knoxville, TN
Purchaser/Inside Sales Apr. 2001 - Present
As a senior inside sales representative and purchaser it has been my
responsibility to provide quotes for all customer inquiries. I also
oversee new product analysis and application evaluation with vendors
to match our inventory to our customers' needs, effectively expanding
our business to match the change in customer demand. Tracking 95
percent of inventory on the front and back end allowed accurate
monitoring of inventory prices and amounts increasing our competitive
edge. As an example, due to my efforts, 2007 to 2008's use of cycle
counting on inventory produced a drop in Loss Inventory by 27%.
Additionally, I created minimum and maximum limits for inventory,
maintaining levels within set limits; ensured that the warehouse staff
maintained proper paperwork flow and inventory counts; and, managed
payroll for all warehouse and delivery employees for three years.

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Knoxville, TN
Counselor in Branch Presidency Sept. 2002 - July 2009
For seven years I was in the Branch Presidency for my church, which is
like a Pastor in other churches. I had the stewardship of over 200
members. Overseeing the auxiliary heads and ensuring they are
fulfilling their responsibilities, doing so in a kind but stern
manner. This position gave me many opportunities to counsel with
members in a one-on-one basis in their time of need and lead them
through the situation in a manner that benefits them best.
Boy Scouts of America Knoxville, TN
Scout Master July 2001 - Aug. 2004
Boy Scout leader for three years helping the young men advance in
Scouting through teaching them how to be more responsible by following
through on their duties in turn helping them become more productive
members of society. I was able to adjust and plan around two mildly
handicap Scouters. The challenge of this was to keep Scouting
challenging and fun for the rest of the troop, but still attainable
for them.
