Steelcase began in 1912 as The Metal Office Furniture Company in Grand
Rapids, Michigan. In 1972 Steelcase entered the wood office furniture
market. Still headquartered in Grand Rapids, Steelcase today is an
international company with approximately 13,000 employees worldwide and
more than 600 dealer locations around the world. I am currently
responsible for supporting all assigned manufacturing processes in the
Wood Fabrication Dept. Determining and documenting standardized area work
focusing on one piece work flow. I work closely with our Specials Group
to determine manufacturing feasibility based on special customer
requests. Determine best practice manufacturing methods to increase
quality consistency and reduce scrap. My accomplishments include:
> Derived and implemented Hot Press scrap reduction project
resulting in a $1500 per month savings
> Eliminated numerous non-value added processes from product value
streams.
> Implemented various Poka-Yokes to eliminate numerous customer
related disturbances.
> Increased output 35% by implementing standardized work.
> Reduced required area equipment by 20% without decreasing
output.
> Standardized product build practices resulting in a 15% increase
in output.
> Launched SawStop technology in assigned areas reducing safety
risks and liability.
> Created operator machine maintenance program resulting in

Autocam Corporation is a precision manufacturer of metal components for
the automotive, consumer products, and medical industry with global sales
of $400 million. I led cross-functional teams of operators, team leaders,
technicians, and quality technicians. Was responsible for supporting all
assigned daily manufacturing processes. Procured the necessary manpower,
material and machines for new product launches. Utilized Gantt charts to
develop project status summary for product management review. Led and
followed lean manufacturing practices and 5S activities. Utilized APQP
practices and Risk Assessment to develop processes and implement poka-
yoke devices where needed. Was responsible for the development of product
strategies, quotes, pricing, area layout, product flow and supplier
