OBJECTIVE
My objective is to obtain your Engineering Technician position that you have open. I feel
I’m the best person to fill this position based on my skills and hard work ethic. If I am
given a chance I will excel and be the best at the job and do whatever is necessary to
move on to the next level. I’m looking to go as high as I can in the company through hard
work and offered training opportunities. I’m very mechanically inclined and feel that I
can master any job given me. I have worked outside a lot doing facility maintenance and
making outside repairs on equipment in all weather conditions. Hot, cold, rainy, stormy,
or icy weather doesn’t bother me in the least.
WORK EXPERIENCE AND HISTORY
Custom Machine Works- 4-2009 still employed here. I am responsible for running and
setting up Haas CNC mills (HS1) and CNC lathes (HL1). I do all the setups and
operating of the machines. Im responsible for all the quality control and do all the
measuring using dial calipers, micrometers, cmm, inside mics, etc. Our tolerances are .
002 and I don’t have any trouble holding them. I can use and read all measuring tools. I
can do some programming and can edit all programs. I do all maintenance and most all
repairs needed on our CNC machines.
Southwire- 9-2008 to 4-2009 My job title here was Electronic Maintenance Technician. I
was responsible for repairing various manufacturing equipment which included
mechanical and electrical repairs. I would troubleshoot, diagnose, and then repair the
problem. My job also included doing facility maintenance when needed and also doing
electrical, air and water installs. We used the CMMS system to generate and complete
work orders so I am familiar with this system. We also used the lockout tag out system
and I do this faithfully. I left this position to go to a higher paying position at Custom
Machine Works.
Sears- 3-2008 to 9-2008 My job title here was Repair Specialist. Here I would go to the
customers home and repair washers, dryers, dishwashers, ranges, trash compactors, and
other major household appliances. I had a company van and was responsible for keeping
inventory stocked and an accurate account of all parts on the van and on backorder. If I
had to order the part I would reschedule with the customer and come back and make the
repair when the part arrived. I had to document all work done on each item on a laptop
and would also download my days route onto the laptop. I was offered a job with
Southwire so I left Sears.
Assurance Metals And Plastics- 3-2004 to 3-2008 My job title here was Multicraft
Maintenance Technician. I performed all electrical repairs and installs, all mechanical
issues and breakdowns, setup and programming of Amada HFB 125 CNC brake press.
Was Maintenance Manager for two facilities with six maintenance employees under my
supervision. I ordered all supplies and planned the pm schedule and recorded all work
performed into a database. Also did die repair and what machine work that was required
to keep things operating. I worked on and set up presses from 75 to 750 ton, tube bender,
mig welders, resistance welders, brake presses, feeders and decoilers, turret presses, and
other various manufacturing equipment. Also machined parts to print for die building.
Work got slow and I was cut back on hours so I left here to go to work for Sears.
Hale Products- 3-1998 to 9-2003 My job title here was Machinist. I ran manual mills
and lathes and CNC mills and lathes. I was responsible for setting up and running
castings and raw stock per the print to make the desired part. Tolerances were usually .
002. I am familiar with Mori Seki, Fadal, Hardinge, Eagle, and Enshu controls. I used
various types of measuring equipment and can read and use all types. The company
closed our facility and moved it to Florida. I was offered a Machinist position there, but
decided to stay here and find another job.
Murray, Inc.- 10-1991 to 3-1998 I started off here as a set up tech for the press room and
performed this job until I moved into the Electrical/Maintenance classification. I moved
into this position as an apprentice in 1992 and worked in this classification until the
company started cutting skilled trades in 1998 and me being one of the younger
employees in skilled trades I was laid off. I was responsible for troubleshooting and
repairing production equipment. We also did electrical and mechanical installs. I gained a
lot of on the job training here and became a skilled maintenance tech and electrician.
EDUCATION
I obtained a high school diploma at Loretto High School. I went to Tennessee Technology
Center in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee and studied Industrial Maintenance Technology.
There I gained my electrician helper certificate and maintenance mechanic apprentice
certificate before having to return to the workforce to provide for my family. I have
driven forklifts almost daily over the last 15 years. I have the ability to troubleshoot
circuits and wire machine controls and motors. I also received an CNC Press Brake
