CHRONOLOGICAL SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

Project Manager (Ecommerce) PMO

The Home Depot, Feb 2010 – August 2010

• Managed The Appliance Redesign Project a multi-phase reimplementation of the leading category in

Home Depot’s web presence accounting for over $100m in web sales, in the first five months on

2010, which is 25% of total web HD Online sales. Additional functionality was added to broaden

product lines to include “Pro” appliances and offer additional delivery and accessory options to online

consumers. An extensive User Experience review was conducted as part of this project.

• Managed the Interactive Preference Center (IPC) implementation including realignment of scope and

CRM direction to enable the IPC to be delivered on schedule by an external vendor, Acxiom (Budget

$1.3m). Scope adjustments included a thorough analysis of a planned Single-Sign-On solution that

would have delayed the project significantly due to contention for HD/IT resources and budgets. A

solution was devised not relying on SSO which allowed the project to proceed without HD/IT delays.

Worked with the vendor to reduce project risk by staying on Oracle rather than proceeding with a SQL

Server Conversion.

• Managed the Implementation of 6 Micro-sites (lg.homedepot.com, ge.homedepot.com

nhance.homedepot.com etc.) being deployed by vendors in support of the HD Ecommerce site. Sites

were developed by individual external agencies with direction from HD to align to Brand and Site

Creative and User Experience Standards.

Nutri-Living Corp., March 2009 – Feb 2010

• Web consolidation project including e-commerce, content management, social networking, and

centralized lead management.

• Evaluated content management application and open source extensions and plug-ins for the e-

commerce and social networking functions. Designed the taxonomy for content and the data

structure for data flow between sites including initial content migration.

• Vendor selection for graphic design and development resources utilizing both on-shore and off-shore.

Network Communications Inc., May 2008 – February 2009

• Project leadership for a business critical ground-up redevelopment of the core systems and

infrastructure used to process and host over one half million real estate listings. The project

consisted of 16 dedicated development resources and an additional 20 shared resources including,

developers, testers, and infrastructure support staff. (Budget $3.5mil). Testing and implementation

support resources were drawn from the business community using SharePoint to coordinate

scheduling, reporting and operational feedback.

• The ecommerce application was developed using .Net/ Web 2.0 /AJAX /.net Tiers, and provides data

capture of listing, print ad requests and issues layout, image uploading, proofing, and full service

client interface.

• The project complexity included the following; Listings are processed from over 100 feeds, validated

and standardization for storage in a normalized relational database. Stored listing data is then made

available to various image processing applications and Issue Publication function that feeds over 500

in-house print publications as well as being selectively transmitting downstream to feed over 40

partner websites.

Quality Control Manager

Internet Broadcasting, January 2008 – May 2008

• Established the Quality Control Initiative for an industry leading internet content and service provider

totally revamping their QA/QC methods, infrastructure and processes. The infinitive included

tightened Release Management Procedures which were disseminated via a SharePoint Wiki.

• Championed the QC Department and drove the spread of industry best practices for QC throughout

the enterprise.

• Developed a program plan to totally revise the code promotion and testing process for the complex

web publication (Akamai) and content management environment that serves 66 high profile high

volume Television Station Web Sites.

by establishing a ‘purpose built’ test data repository and comprehensive regression test-cases.

Carlson Marketing Worldwide & Carlson Hotels Worldwide, 2007

Loyalty Program for Carlson Hotels Worldwide, development and implementation:

• Responsible for leading the joint efforts of Carlson Marketing and Carlson Hotels corporations to

develop a state-of-the-art Customer Loyalty Platform for deployment globally in all Carlson Hotel

brands, comprising 900+ properties. This was a major component of Carlson Hotel’s CRM Initiative.

• Facilitated the Executive Steering Committee meetings and providing the program dashboard that

displays metrics and program progress commentary. This includes Organization and Information

Technology Change Control processes, dashboard reporting of key Integration Point statuses and

Chronological Milestone. Developed executive reports designed to monitor this mission critical

program. Utilized SharePoint to disseminate status reporting and developed executive reports

designed to monitor this mission critical program.

• Worked with the senior leadership of both vendor and client organizations to align and coordinate

efforts to design the business processes necessary to support the new application as well as the

training needed to make the application successful across all brands.

• Created and monitored a combined implementation plan that encompassed all 21 projects and major

sub-systems spanning both IT and Business Work-stream tasks.

• Managed Project Teams of shared resources (on-shore and off-shore), with the major development

effort being split between Sydney Australia, the Minneapolis head office, and Omaha. (Budget core

app. $2.9 mil./ program $5.8 mil.).

• Managed the Full Service Pharmaceutical Benefits Management Implementation for Blue Cross

Oklahoma and for Blue Cross Florida.

SunTrust Bank (2005 –2006)

• Program Manager assigned to the ‘Enterprise Technology and Infrastructure Division’ (ETI) PMO, to

manage all aspects of the Configuration Management (CM) Program and the Software Rationalization

Program.

• Formed an Executive Steering Committee, delivered executive training of ITIL Configuration

Management concepts to ETI leaders and business unit leaders, then issued an RFP for Consulting

Services to deliver ITIL based subject matter expertise to the organization.

• Program oversight of the Software Rationalization Program which identified redundant and duplicative

software products and eliminated unused licenses and other configuration anomalies, such as

incorrect versions and out of support applications. The program included the Platforms Solutions

Project that discovered Configuration Item and established a Configuration Management Database

(CMDB).

• Managed the Enterprise Computing Initiative which included the acquisition of ALTIRIS to provide a

CMDB of the Server and Desktop environments, and provide plug ins to the ARGIS Asset

Management System and the CA Unicenter Service Desk Application.

• Project Manager for the Master Scale Conversion Project through the Project Initiation Phase and the

beginning of the Design and Activation Phase. The Master Scale Conversion was the key project in a

major revamping of Credit Risk Management across the enterprise to meet Basel II guidelines. The

Project affected all lines of business covering 60 systems with major impacts on five Loan

Management Applications and Prism the Credit Risk Engine.

GMAC/RFC, 2004 – 2005

Automated Pooling Project:

Managed the redevelopment of the Structured Finance Automated Pooling Systems. This business critical

application provides extensive ‘Collateral Analysis’ functionality for the Securitization process including

pooling up to 10,000 household mortgages into a deal.

The move from VB6 to .Net adhered to strict Change Management Guidelines, Sarbanes Oxley and

Regulation A/B guidelines for Asset Backed Securities.

The project was conducted using Agile Methodology and Extreme Programming, turning around a

dysfunctional team that ultimately delivered on time and budget. The scope of system improvements

included integration of new architecture and harvesting 4 legacy applications.

ValueMart Project:

Led the design, specification and cost justification of ValueMart, a system to centralize, standardized and

consolidate Mortgage Property Valuations.

The ability to track property valuations across multiple loans provided a major breakthrough in fraud

detection by Mortgage Credit Risk and the technology is being implemented in the Loan Approval

Decision Engine.

Paragon Development Systems 2004

Provided Business support for the installation and customization of Peregrine Service Center.

Developed and documented ITIL based business processes to support organization change to address a

new line of business providing Client Care to the Healthcare industry via Peregrine.

Business Consultant

Allianz Life Insurance, 2003

Redesigned the Business to Employee (B2E) Portal to unite US Life and Allianz Life Business lines after

their merger.

Researched the two existing portal’s taxonomy and other enterprise content sources.

Qualified and documented the requirements of 6 Lines of business and 14 support divisions to produce a

Scope and Requirements Document, an Implementation Plan, and a detailed Cost Benefit Analysis

(CBA). Then presented these findings to the Executive Committee .

Development Manager (Knowledge Management)

Best Buy Co., 2000 – 2002

Knowledge Management Initiative:

Led the Software Development Team of Best Buy’s KM initiative to produce a web based application

(ASP) and repeatable delivery model to support over 20 separate implementations to different

‘communities of practice’ serving over 450 stores and service centers and approximately 50,000

employees.

Tools deployed included a full featured Sales and Technical Tips System, Tip Alerts and Subscriptions,

Knowledge Repository, Product Specification Repository, Employee Self service, Employee Toolkit and

News Self Publication features.

This system utilized CRM techniques to profile the data needs of employees and organizational

communities and to refined the taxonomy for each implementation to suit data access patterns.

Participated in the planning, design, taxonomy and implementation of Best Buy’s KM Portal Software for a

charitable undertaking with the American Productivity and Quality Center (AQPC).and The Federal

Education Authority and Education Interest Groups in Washington DC.

Musicland and Futureshop Acquisitions by Best Buy

Managed the creation of websites to welcome new employees to the enterprises and to inform BBY

associates of the acquisitions of Musicland Records and later Future Shop in Canada. The future Shop

extreme secrecy prior to the official announcements.

Musicland Web Development Manager:

Managed the maintenance of Musicland e Commerce web sites, including SamGoody.Com, OnCue.com,

MediaPlay.com, SunCoast.com, including finalizing development of Best Buy and Sam Goody

Entertainment web sites which were merged after the acquisition.

Participated in the design and planning sessions to create a new Enterprise eCommerce System to

replace the above websites across the 5 Musicland brands.

Special Projects:

Managed the design, development and implementation of a Problem Management system to service the

‘Enterprise Command Center’ during critical initiatives such as the holiday season.

The Problem management application included Alert and Change Management Notification, Problem

Escalation, Pager Notification, Technical Tip sharing, Incident ‘Post Mortem’ Reporting, Lessons Learned,

and provided access to a Knowledge Repository containing System Diagrams, Documentation, Problem

Management Methodology, Incident Escalation SOP and access to System Monitoring Tools. (Using ITIL

Standards)

Concurrently to the Web development projects above managed projects for the design and development

of browser based applications for score carding and status reporting of the Service Level Agreements

(SLA) for Enterprise Shared Services (ESS).

Consultant

Greentree Financial Corporation (Conseco Financial Corporation), 1999 – 2000

Developed a methodology and change management policy, for the Enterprise PMO, to control all in

progress software development projects. The methodology ensured Y2K compliancy throughout the

project life cycle and that new Conseco PMO standards were met.

Y2K Project leader for the identification and analysis of all system interfaces (totaling 400) and

interdependencies, across multiple Mainframe, AS400, UNIX and external vendor platforms, which lead to

the establishment of an enterprise wide User Acceptance Testing Strategy that substantially contributed to

the stability of the Y2K production cutover.

Assisted with the strategic planning and execution of the Y2K Production Cut over and the 1/1/2000

Events.

Technical Project Manager

BI Performance, 1997 –1998

Mobil Oil CRM Project:

Conducted an Exploratory Data Analysis, feasibility study and requirements analysis of a comprehensive

CRM System for Mobil’s Industrial Lubrications Division.

The CRM system incorporated Sales Force Automation to a large nationwide team plus centralized

corporate sales departments; Corporate marketing activities integrated with Database Marketing (DBM),

and Call Center Management Systems (CCMS). The system also provides the functionality necessary to

interface with the Advanced Lubricants Pricing System, and other order acquisition, fulfillment and product

production systems.

Managed the vendor relationships and selection of Expert Advisor and Expert Support packages which

were enhanced and implemented in an ORACLE and UNIX Environment.

Canon & IAMS Projects

Responsible for the analysis and conceptual design of client systems included Database Marketing

Systems, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Systems, and Awards Programs. These

applications were deployed across multiple platforms including, Mainframe (IBM ADABAS), Client server

(DEC Alpha, ORACLE/UNIX), PC and the Internet, XML Java, JDBC, JMS.

Participated in customer presentations and strategic planning and was responsible for the conceptual

system design, requirements analysis, database design and project management of a variety of

applications.

BI Internal Capability Projects:

Designed and managed the development of tools to facilitate loading variably formatted EDI files to Oracle

databases.

Technical Project Manager and consultant for BI's Measurement Services Division which builds and

operates a broad range of systems for its clientele which are predominately Fortune 500 companies. The

Senior consultant in Professional Services Division for Software AG the vendors of ADABAS database

Management systems in America.

• Authored successful proposal for the Aircraft Maintenance Station Workload Control project at FedEx.

This was a ‘business critical’ system that interfaced to the MAXI MERLIN Aircraft Maintenance System for

scheduling and balanced maintenance activities among the various maintenance locations throughout the

world.

• Project Manager of the FedEx project and lead a series of JAD/RAD/JRP sessions with up to twenty

business representatives including Executives, Managers, Subject Matter Experts and Maintenance

Worker Representatives.

• Managed the development team of seven through conceptual design, including Entity Relationship

diagramming, and prototyping iterations to model the design decisions reached during JRP sessions.

(Using ADABAS/Natural/CONSTRUCT.)

• The Phase 1, “Critical Functionality” was delivered on time and budget ($680k) by the end of January,

1997.

Application Architect / Technical Project Manager

Consulting to DAIHATSU AUSTRALIA Ltd. (1992 1995)

Assisted Fujitsu in the design and building an application to service Daihatsu’s 168 Australian dealer

network providing automotive spare parts from multiple warehouses and by direct pass through ordering

on the parent company in Japan. The system included Focus Forecasting Techniques which allowed the

system to select the most suitable reordering algorithm for the part. The system supported an inventory

of over 70,000 unique parts, kits and assemblies.
