Family Services Coordinator- V irginia Place – 9/4/2000 to 4/29/10. Was responsible for
coordinating support services to families/students who participated in this single parent self-
sufficiency program. Provided case management, scheduled and conducted monthly counseling
sessions with 80 residents. Administered needs assessment/ intake on all new residents/students.
Compiled the monthly Needs and Goals for funding from Community Action Council. Tracked and
monitored each family’s semester grades and collected all class schedules. Carried out corrective
actions, if students/residents, were not in compliance with program policies. Referred families to
community resources as needed. Coordinated parenting workshops which included: Parenting,
E mployability Skills, Budgeting / f inance, Nutrit ion / F itness, Stress Management, Self Esteem,etc.
Was responsible for assisting the parent /student to graduate from college /university and become self-
sufficient. Kept track of data and prepared the program’s annual “End Results” statistical report for
f unding from United Way. Attended Resource Fairs, etc in the community for recruitment /PR
p urposes.

Implemented the Environmental Justice Initiative. Made contact with neighborhood centers and
community people to enlighten and lift awareness of toxin emissions and the impact poor air quality
has on the health and well being of the community. Facilitated committee meetings. Assisted with
coordination of the program’s Public Education Network.
Family Services D i rector- Habitat for Humanity -3/16/94-7/12/97
Administered the Family Selection and Nurture Program in accordance with Habitat’s mission and
policies. Worked with standing committees, recruited and t rained volunteers to be family nurturers.
Guided the family selection process. Maintained all family files. Monitored “Sweat Equity” hours
required for homeownership. Guided families through the complete homeownership process.
Monitored mortgage payments and established repayment plans for delinquent family accounts.
Coordinated l ife skills workshops. Planned and coordinated the program’s first recognition banquet .
PROGRAM D I RECTOR -YMCA of Central Kentucky – 9/1983-3/14/94Responsible for the day to day
operations of the YMCA Black Achievers Program, a youth career exploration education enhancement
