OVERVIEW
* ***** ********** ************** ********** in
clustered WebSphere Java/SOA environments.
5+ years experience providing 24/7 on-call production
support to a large scale enterprise environment with
over 1000 application server instances.
8 years of experience in developing and administering
WebSphere Portal Server and Fatwire Content Server
(CMS).
Middleware capacity planning for environments hosting
3rd party applications such as Filenet P8, Maximo, etc.
Well versed with WebSphere Clustering (Work Load
Management (WLM) and fail over) techniques including
horizontal and vertical scaling, webserver load
balancing, etc.
Performance monitoring and tuning using tools like Wily
Introscope, IBM Heap Analyzer, perfmon, process
explorer, etc
PROJECTS
WebSphere Automated Publishing Program - Developed an
application using JMX API to automate EAR publish. It
could install, update and restart EARs, restart clusters
and send email notifications to users about application
publish status.
Automated Cluster/Jvm setup - Developed JACL/Jython
scripts to automatically setup clusters/jvms with 3M
specific properties. Automated scripts to setup
datasources, URL providers, namespace bindings, JMS
listener ports, connection factories, destinations, etc.
Application Availability Status Website - Developed
website to display application related data -
Application Server/Cluster details, Datasource
information, URL providers, Namespace bindings, etc.
Used Perl/JACL scripts to pull data and refresh
information on a daily basis for over 300 applications
and 1000 jvm instances.
Plugin Manipulation - Plugin merge script to
automatically merge WebSphere plugins from different
cells during migration so a common webserver could act
as frontend for applications hosted on different
environments. Also split plugins to setup virtual
clusters to disperse traffic among anonymous,
authenticated and jvms serving blob content (pdfs,
images, etc).
Siteminder TAI chaining - Implemented a custom TAI
module and chained with Siteminder TAI so getRemoteUser
calls would return a generic guest account for anonymous
users.
Middleware capacity planning for environments hosting
3rd party applications such as Filenet P8, Maximo, etc.
End-to-end SSL implementation (Webserver -> Middleware
-> Database) for PCI compliance
Jvm Status Reports - Three years worth of data in csv
format for application server restarts, out of memory
and heapdump count etc to facilitate creation of pivot
tables and charts for capacity reviews.

Each of 3M's Market Centers and business units has their
individual websites at present. These websites are running on
varied systems such as ATG Dynamo, IBM WebSphere, Silversteam,
Lotus Notes, etc. To overcome issues relating to compatibility
problems and standardization, the corporate e-business team is
developing a framework for intranets. This framework, called
Enterprise Website Content and Delivery (EWCD), was based on IBM
Portal Server and Fatwire Content Server along with other COTS
products (search engine etc).
