Objective
V It is my desire to work for a company where my talents, unique multi-
disciplinary experience and skills in food manufacturing, food safety and
sanitation, maintenance, engineering and project management can be
applied.
V Protecting public health through food safety practices that emphasize
continuous improvement and prevention can best be done by partnering with
and leading all stakeholders to develop, implement, maintain and audit
comprehensive Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP's) that will
deliver sustainable business results while making responsible choices for
the environment and for society.
V Food safety is best approached by implementing a rigorous culture that
emphasizes
o Corrective actions
o Monitoring procedures
o Verification procedures
o Record keeping procedures
Accomplishments
V By leading plant personnel, vendors and contractors I was instrumental in
installing and integrating HACCP Metal Detection on 15 production lines.
I wrote SOP's and conducted operator and maintenance training.
V In partnership with the Quality Assurance department, I was the Project
Manager to lead the initiative to install Manufacturing Control Point
(MCP's) at about 300 locations in the plant. MCP's are magnets,
strainers, filters, fluid draw sample ports and observation access
points.
V I was the Project Manager to engineer, install and integrate Clean In
Place (CIP) systems. This included the writing of SOP's and the
production of PIN charts. Once the SOP's and PIN charts were completed,
the systems were then validated and documented to ensure that desired
results were obtained. This also included employee orientation and
training.
V As a Project Engineer I was responsible to train contractors and ensure
compliance with all OSHA, GMP, Food Safety, Plant Policies and Procedures
to ensure the external people coming into the plant were in compliance
with the same regulations employees complied with. I produced, with the
input from all plant stakeholders, a Contractor Conduct document that
every non-employee was required to read, agree to and sign before they
entered the plant.
V In partnership with the Employee Health and Safety and Quality Assurance
departments I introduced a system to catalog Material Safety Data Sheets
and standardize the handling and storage of chemicals. This system
embraced requirements mandated by OSHA and GFSI.
Experience
V At a dairy foods manufacturing plant I was a team member who helped the
plant successfully attain a passing audit by The British Retail
Consortium (BRC) to be certified as being compliant with the Global Food
Safety Initiative.
V I am a Project Management Professional (PMP ). As you may know, to
become a PMP a project manager is formally evaluated and certified by
the Project Management Institute (PMI ) to have demonstrated experience,
knowledge and skills to lead and direct Project Management teams. A PMP
credential is a global credential earned by the best project managers
after certifying a work history in project management, fulfilling
educational requirements and the successful completion of the PMP exam.
A PMP credential is maintained by earning Professional Development Units
and adhering to a Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
V I have participated in teams to develop Key Performance Indicators
(KPI's) and metrics to track plant performance including GMP and
sanitation initiatives.
V I have worked in a plant and been responsible to engineer systems to
ensure allergens (milk and soy products) were handled, sequenced and
cleaned properly.
V I have extensive experience engineering and managing capital projects to
meet corporate portfolio goals. Projects ranged from $5 thousand to $5.4
million.
V I have experience with starting and sustaining a rodent control programs
at plants that I worked in was done with a partnership with licensed and
certified vendors which resulted in the total eradication of rodents
while using and handling rodicides in compliance with label instructions
and all applicable regulations.
V I have experience supervising and leading teams ranging from 2 employees
to 45, including peer supervisors, managers and hourly workers.
