Project Management Experience - Plan and schedule construction projects,
coordinate subcontractor activities, conduct safety and QC inspections for
medical/hospital projects on Government Installations. Facilitate resolving
of design solutions with the responsible design consultant. Oversight and
P/L responsibility of area construction division; direct
design/construction for all project phases including site development,
approval of design specs and drawings. Overview of large scale projects up
to $110MM. Participate in marketing, business acquisition and corporate
growth strategy.
Design/Build - Develop building programming, scheduling and budgets, design
coordination, planning and permitting. Initiate RFQs/RFPs for A/E and GC's,
negotiate contracts and project fees. Serve as coordinator for development
pre-construction, design/build, A/E and construction teams. Originate and
maintain estimate of construction costs; provide contract administration
and management during construction; approve final acceptance documents
including as-built drawings and obtain Final Occupancy Certificate.
Project Administration - Coordinate construction activities within Joint
Commission requirements, ICRA procedures and perform Risk Management and
Risk Assessments. Organize, direct and manage GCs and sub-contractors for
completion of complex and diverse projects. Develop and update all
administrative and field construction activities including daily/weekly
reports, construction schedules; conduct subcontractor, engineer and
architect/owner meetings, implement CQC plan in accordance with USACE
requirements; submit all as-built drawings, O&M manuals and Final Occupancy
Certificates. Oversee payment process including lender inspections and
certifications. Oversee 3rd party QA program including USACE EM385-1-1;
submit/monitor permit applications; document all owner, architect and
subcontractor correspondence; originate all change orders, ASI's and RFI's.
Selected Achievements & Skills
As Project Manager for VW International, Completed MRR IDIQ renewal
projects and OMME Task Orders at VA Medical Facilities and Army Medical
Centers.
VP of Construction Management for MacKenzie House, Completed the company's
most difficult project caused by a failed General Contractor. The project
filled to 95% occupancy within 8 months after opening. Signature authority
for capital disbursements; approve application for payments and change
orders; final project acceptance and closeout accountability.
Proven Record - As Owner's Representative at Wallstreet Tower, Kansas City,
the project set sales records and is the cornerstone for revitalization in
the downtown financial district. Its success preceded development projects
such as The Reserve, KC Live District and the Sprint Arena.
Awards: Received the 2005 and 2006 Kansas City HBA Dream Award First Runner-
up. Construction Manager of the team that received the 2006 Kansas City HBA
Builder of the Year award.
