Project: - STC2.0 (Single Trading Company)
The Single Trading Company (STC) initiative is Cisco's response to business
demand for direct selling capabilities (Product, Service, and Software) in
more countries. The initiative is focused on constructing a commerce back-
end (new legal entities and buy-sell model) to support the next decade of
global growth. The primary goal is to enable Cisco to capture business
opportunities which are currently out of reach due to legal, tax and system
limitations that prevent Cisco from conducting direct business in certain
countries. The initiative seeks to transform Cisco's selling model by
adding automated Buy-Sell subsidiaries and branches in 45-50 countries over
the next few years. The Service Contracts / Install Base data from Oracle
Out-of-Box (OOB) tables is de-normalized and populated to the NRT (Near
Real Time) tables. The changes to Bill_To_Site_Id and Install_Site_Id in
OOB tables due STC initiative are done in phased manner. These changes will
be populated to the NRT tables and then to down-stream applications which
use this data.
