Pilot, United States Air Force (1979-2005)
Military Attach , United States Embassy, Cairo (2001-05)
Served as representative of the Chief of Staff, United States Air Force and
advisor to the US Ambassador on air power issues. Directly responsible for
US military aircraft clearances to fly over Egypt and US military seagoing
vessel clearances through the Suez Canal as acting Naval Attach . Also
flew the Embassy's twin-engine turboprop aircraft in support of
international and US leaders.
Chief of Military Personnel Branch, Joint Chiefs of Staff (1998-00)
Responsibilities included supervision of personnel assignment actions to
and from the Joint Staff and its associated organizations and commands; and
management of the processing for joint military awards across the entire
Department of Defense. Also served as the administrative commander for
military personnel assigned to the Joint Staff.
Flying Unit Commander, Andrews Air Force Base (1996-1998)
Responsibilities include command, control, and supervision of flying
operations in support of world leaders and senior military officers around
the globe.
Chief of Safety, Charleston Air Force Base (1994-96)
Responsible for development and implementation of flying, explosive, and
ground safety programs in support of international military operations
during the introduction of the C-17 transport aircraft into the US Air
Force inventory.
Instructor pilot, various locations (1979-1994)
Instructor pilot in helicopters and jets at military bases in the US and
abroad. Additionally served as program manager for the $40 billion, C-17
acquisition program and assistant to the commander for senior officer
matters at Air Mobility Command Headquarters.
Process Control Engineer, Carrier Corp., Syracuse, NY (1978-79)
Conducted quality assurance inspections and all documentation requirements
for certification of industrial cooling units built for use in nuclear
power production facilities.
