General Manager: Business was only a few years
old when I started, only had a basic job shop
accounting system, and was struggling
to become a well run production facility.
Achievements:

Michigan.
Tower Automotive grew from a privately held
single plant operation to a multi-national
corporation with over 30 manufacturing sites and
three billion in sales. Producing automotive
stampings and assemblies, the primary customer of
the Greenville plant was the Ford Motor Company,
with significant experience with the big
transplant companies (Honda, Toyota, Nissan,
Subaru, and BMW).

accuracy for a 80 million dollar plant.
. Attended Ford Lean Training classes,
implemented dock to dock evaluations of
product flows, and participated in many
continuous improvement groups.
. 98+% accurate cycle counting numbers. Less
than a $15000 swing in a 4 million dollar
year end physical inventory. Over 400 end
items, 1000 component items, and 200
purchased parts.
. Successfully overcame a corporate challenge
to reduce a December year end inventory
from 2 million to $800,000.
. Outsourced over 10 million dollars (in
sales) work for a lower net cost than
making it in house.
. Developed a combined 24 hour scheduling and
inventory reporting system to increase
communication and accurately count
production and scrap.
. Developed and implemented a system to plan
and track preventative maintenance for both
the equipment and production tooling.
. In-sourced over 40 million dollars in
resourced work.
. Developed a cross trained and efficient 15-
person team for Materials and Operations.
. Helped with a team effort to convert from a
IBM Mapics to an integrated QAD system.

the "Stop" system of safety in the plant.
