WORK EXPERIENCE

Graduate Research Assistant, Avionics Engineering Center, Ohio University, Athens OH Jan 2009 to

present

• Worked for NASA Integrated Intelligent Flight Deck (IIFD) project to develop new sensor/data link

integration/monitoring methods to better suit the Integrated Alerting and Notification (IAN) functionality

• Ensured IIFD success by implementing measurement based integrity monitors for GPS and eventually for

INS in support of mitigation strategies for off nominal sensor behavior of the Hazard and Integrity

Monitoring function. Impressive results in first year led to funded extension of the project for the second

year.

2006

Senior Software Engineer, Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions, India

2008

• Designed, developed and tested automobile electronic control unit (ECU) software for an Indian

automobile manufacturer. Ensured product met requirements on time and within budget with a reduced

physical footprint. Product was accepted for future auto models and led to follow on contracts with Volvo

and Peugeot, the first such entry into that market segment. The software development was in C.

• Actively participated in supporting customers for integration testing and mentoring new employees

Software Engineer, BAeHAL Software Limited, India 2004

Electronic Navigation Systems – I and II

• Introduction to different radio navigation systems and their working principles, introduction to fault

tolerance, GPS, GPS receivers, Laser Navigation.

GNSS Receiver Design

• Implemented GPS L1 C/A code acquisition and tracking post-processing suite.

Inertial Navigation Systems

• Implemented attitude, velocity and position computation over entire data set, which implements the

navigation frame mechanization. Also analyzed the short-term position and attitude error behavior of

gyroscope bias errors accelerometer bias errors initial velocity errors.

• Implemented attitude, velocity and position computation over entire data set, which uses Wander

Azimuth mechanization and quaternions for rotation and attitude updating.

Integrated Navigation Systems

• Designed and implemented Kalman filter that demonstrates the working of loose and tight integration of

various navigation systems like GPS, Inertial, and DME systems.

Advanced Satellite Navigation Systems

• Implemented user position solution using least square method for standalone GPS along with error

corrections.

High Accuracy Satellite Navigation Systems
