Dear Hiring Supervisor,
I am interested in applying for a Library Technician position in the
Cleveland Museum of Art. The skills that I have acquired from work and
academic studies support a strong ability in archival processing,
administrative work, history, art history, verbal and written
communication, computer literacy, organizational and supervisory skills and
public relations. I have primarily performed organizational duties in
almost every volunteer and employment position that I have held during my
life.
I have completed an Associates Degree in Interior Design and a
Bachelor Degree in Art History. I possess a working knowledge of the
Internet, MS Word, Excel, Word Perfect, Adobe Photoshop, Power Point, MAS
90, Outlook and QuickBooks. I was recently employed as an
Archivist/Receptionist at ChanTest Corporation, where I was the Primary
Archivist for safety testing studies, facility and equipment records,
training records and SOP's. I am also in charge of maintaining and
releasing the SOPS and the forms for the company. I was previously
employed at The Western Reserve Historical Society as a LTV Steel Project
Manuscripts Processor for the Library Archives. I have worked as an intern
at Hale Farm & Village and the Berea Historical Society and have
volunteered at Shaker Historical Museum. During my internships and
volunteerism, I have performed the duties of a designer, a space planner,
an historian, a registrar, a researcher, a tour guide, an archivist, an
accessions assistant, a computer program trainer, and have worked within
the computer database systems of some of these organizations. I have
worked for many years in administrative, secretarial and receptionist
positions, as a cashier, and a ceramic tile salesperson.
I would very much like an opportunity to speak with you regarding a
position in your fine establishment. My resume and references are enclosed
for your review. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Martha A. Boska
