Commodity Manager

Responsible for annual purchases of $17 MM for five manufacturing

facilities. Commodities include: drivelines, machined parts, castings,

bearings, gearboxes, hydraulic fittings and hydraulic hoses.

Responsibilities include: Supplier selection, consolidation and audits,

negotiation of long term agreements, inventory reduction programs, cost

reduction projects and resolution of delivery and quality issues.

. Used decision analysis process to restructure $5.6 MM in driveline

sourcing to three strategic partners, saving $1.2 MM.

. Increased low cost country sourcing and negotiated price reductions

with domestic suppliers to achieve $680,000 annual cost savings for

automotive and aerospace industries. Production plants in Illinois and

California.

Materials Manager

Responsible for controlling plant inventory levels and for the procurement

and timely delivery of $20 million in raw materials in a cost efficient

manner. Managed the Purchasing, Inventory Control, and the Receiving

Departments. Responsibilities include: ordering and releasing raw

materials, qualifying suppliers, negotiating prices, maintaining accurate

raw material records, obtaining quotes for new products, maintaining

supplier relationships, resolving invoicing and quality problems, and the

direct supervision of eight employees.

. Created new ordering system and reduced on-hand raw material inventory

from 18 to 8.1 million pounds while improving on time delivery.

quality issues, obtaining quotes, and recognizing and taking advantage of

new technologies and processes.
