SUMMARY
Over 25 years experience as a Cartographer/GIS Specialist with the Department of Defense. Expertise in
military mapping requirements and specifications. Proficiency ranges from triangulation, image
manipulation, map compilation and finished map product review. Held and maintained a Top Secret –
SCI security clearance during entire tenure at the Department of Defense. Currently hold a Secret security
clearance.
EXPERIENCE
Quantum Dynamics (on assignment at Boling Air Force base ) Washington, DC
GIS Analyst July 2009– June 2010
• Maintained and updated Enterprise Spatial Database, containing all production level
spatial datasets (MDS), used to create maps, and to perform GIS analysis.
• Enterprise Spatial Database is an Oracle RDBMS, with SDSFIE naming conventions
• Transformed, translated, cleansed, and imported CIP (Common Installation Photo) and
MDS data and associated metadata into the GeoBase data from the stakeholder data
sources, where the data is maintained in the Geo database.
• Examples of MDS include the outside communications cable plant maintained by the
installation Communications unit, electrical and water lines maintained by the Civil
Engineer unit, and defensive positions maintained by Security Forces (SF).
• Maintained metadata using the Federal Geographic Data Committee’s Content Standard
for Digital Geospatial Metadata.
• Ran topology checks to correct data sets (line, polygon, point) object geometry (such as
overlapping polygons).
• Updated attribute tables for all data sets.
• Performed Geo-referencing of field sketches to the CIP and spatial datasets.
• Created maps for in-house customers.
• Used MrSids imagery and other satellite image, both current and historic.
• Communicated with various outside organizations (such as DCGIS, FAA, USGC) to
obtain imagery, metadata and attribute data to maintain the Geodata Base.
