Management Trainee & Quality Control Officer (June 2009 to February 2010)
Adani Wilmar Limited is a $1.5 Billion equal-partnership joint venture
between the Adani group of India ($6 Billion) and the Asian vegetable oils
major Wilmar International Limited of Singapore ($30 Billion). Adani
Wilmar Limited owns 15 vegetable oil processing plants across India. Key
highlights of my work at AWL include:
- Key member of the team that worked on the Good Manufacturing Practices
(GMP) Program
- Responsible for developing the inspection guidelines for food
processing plants in alliance with ADM (Archer-Daniels-Midland)
- Audited 11 manufacturing units across India for instances of
contamination, mix-ups and errors
- Instructed each plant through GMP presentations in taking corrective
measures that would help minimize and eliminate instances of
contamination, mix-ups and errors thus reducing cost
- Worked to achieve ISO 9001, 14000, 18000, 22000 accreditations across
11 manufacturing units
- Developed and effectively implemented the Time and Motion model for
the loading and unloading of tankers and trucks across all units
- Created presentations and organized seminars to promote awareness of
the GMP program across all manufacturing units
- Developed the marketing strategy in alliance with a clinical research
company for launching a new brand for a blended oil, citing health
benefits
- Presented the new product development and marketing strategy to the
senior management

Chemical Engineering Senior Year Project (September 2006 to June 2007)
Worked with Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited (GFL) a part of the $2 billion
INOX Group of Companies and is largest and most competitive producer of
Refrigerant HCFC22 in India. Key highlights of my project at GFL include:
- Successfully designed a 5000 TPA plant to manufacture a commonly used
refrigerant in residential and commercial air conditioning and
refrigeration
- Created the Process Flow Diagrams and P&ID for the plant
- Performed mass and energy balances along with basic simulation using
Microsoft Visio
- Carried out detailed sizing of the distillation tower and reactor
- Performed HAZOP study and economic analysis of the plant
