Present Position: Quality/CI Manager, Aluminum Wheel Group
Accuride is a manufacturer of forged aluminum wheels for the
heavy truck industry. Responsible for all quality functions of
two plants (one in Cuyahoga Falls, OH and one in Erie, PA),
including maintenance of all TS-16949 activities, supplier
management and development and driving improvement of internal
and external quality measurables. Responsible for the
identification and management of continuous improvement projects
(process improvement, lean), identifying internal candidates for
six-sigma training. Accomplishments include reducing Customer
PPM from 2000 to approximately 75 PPM and driving internal
improvements that reduced machine scrap from 14.7% to less then
0.9% without capital investments. Lead rapid recovery initiative
for an Accuride facility in Piedmont, Alabama to preserve the TS-
16949 certification. Currently functioning as Project Manager
for several product and process improvement efforts.

1/06 Position: Quality Manager / Continuous Improvement Manager
JCI Oberlin facility is a JIT manufacturer of complete seat
systems for the Ford Motor Company Lorain Assembly plant.
Responsible for all quality functions within the plant,
including implementation and maintenance of the TS-16949 quality
system, supplier management, measuring and driving improvement
of internal and external quality measurables. Other duties
include chairing the accident investigation committee and
ensuring corrective actions are developed and implemented for
safety issues. Led "Cost of Quality" efforts that resulted in a
cost avoidance of $400,000 in 12 months. Presented COQ Program
to the JCI Ford Business Unit as a "best practice". Received
JCI Merit Award as the lead plant in Ford Trim Cover Warranty
Reduction Team. The Oberlin Plant has received the Gold Quality
Olympics Award for seven consecutive years. Certified Six-Sigma
Green Belt.
Also led the quality recovery efforts in JCI plants in Shelbyville,
Kentucky (2001), Shelburne, Ontario (2004), and Nicholasville,
Kentucky (2004) and was Quality Manager of the JCI Strongsville
Plant concurrently with Oberlin in 2001-2002.
Responsibilities of the Continuous Improvement manager include
meeting the financial plant goals using traditional Six Sigma,
Lean Manufacturing and JDI (just do it) projects to meet or
exceed the plant financial goals for CI savings.
3/97 to American Commercial Vehicles, Inc., Orrville Ohio
8/99 Position: Quality Manager. ACV is a full service manufacturer of
truck cabs for the heavy-duty truck industry. Operations range
from stamping, assembly and painting of truck cabs. Responsible
for all quality functions within the company, including the
development and implementation of a quality system that met all
QS-9000 requirements (Registration achieved February 1998),
supervision of salary and hourly personnel. Twice functioned as
Project Manager for the introduction of new product lines, one
stamping program and one cab assembly. Also responsible
development and implementation and maintaining of a quality
system that met all requirements of ISO-9001 (Registration
Achieved December 1997) for Engineering Global Solutions, a
design firm under common ownership with ACV locatated in
Dearborn, Michigan.
11/94 to S&Z Tool & Die Co., Cleveland, Ohio
3/97 Position: Director of Quality. S&Z is a manufacturer of progressive
dies and metal stampings for the automotive and commercial
industries. Responsible for all quality functions within the
corporation. Developed and implemented a quality system that met
the QS-9000 requirements (Registration Achieved January 1997).
Also introduced Poka-Yoke concepts into the manufacturing
environment.
11/92 to Com-Corp Industries, Cleveland, Ohio
11/94 Position: Reliability/Quality Manager, promoted from Quality
Engineer. CCI is a manufacturer of OEM automotive parts;
customer base includes the three major domestic automotive
companies as well as several " transplant" companies. Along with
the responsibility for the complete quality system, additional
duties included training of salary and hourly personnel in SPC,
Quality Awareness, Root Cause Analysis and proper inspection
techniques.
7/89 to International Gear Corporation, Cleveland, Ohio
11/92 Position: Inspection Supervisor, promoted from Quality Engineer.
Responsibilities included coordinating all coordinate measuring
machine (CMM) activities, including programming of various types
of machines, supervision of hourly inspection personnel in the
housing manufacturing area. As a quality Engineer,
responsibilities included developing a system to assure that all
customer requirements were met, disposition of non-conforming
material, design of gages and capital equipment justification
projects.
11/86 to MTI/Mitutoyo Corporation, Plymouth Michigan
7/89 Position: CMM Field Engineer. Responsible for post sale operations of
Mitutoyo CMMs, including installation, calibration, repair and
training the customer in the proper use and programming of the
CMM.
