Director Asset Care, North Atlantic Consumer Products, Neenah, WI
(2006 - 2009)
Responsible for leadership of reliability and maintenance activities for
North Atlantic Consumer Products organization (26 locations) with an
annual budget of over $350 million. Included reliability programs, Lean
initiatives to reduce equipment losses, spare parts management, and SAP
Plant Maintenance support. Total team of 50 people.
. Demonstrated 24% delay reduction in early phase of TPM deployment.
. Reduced grade change times (typically 50%) to enable cycle time
reduction and finished product inventory reduction of $390 million.
. Managed team that led over 100 Lean improvement events per year.
. Maintained maintenance costs flat in spite of inflation.
. Reduced spare parts inventories six million dollars per year, and
stores staffing was reduced by 20%.
Projects Director, Consumer Tissue, Reigate, UK (2005 - 2006)
Responsible for tissue expansion projects in UK and manufacturing foot
print realignment activities in Italy, Germany, France, and Switzerland
totaling $150 million.
. Completed construction projects within budget and ahead of schedule to
reduce foot print and expand manufacturing capability.
. Led analysis which deferred planned major project capital spending to
a later time.
. Closed or sold four facilities and modified capability at eight other
locations.
Projects Director, Tax Department, Neenah, WI (2003 - 2005)
Projects leader for tax credit investments in 21 historic properties
being developed as hotels and apartments, and oversight of synthetic
fuels investments in coal mines.
. Turned around or closed out five troubled projects. Worked with
partnership investors to personally lead two projects.
. Replaced multiple layers of consultants to simplify project process
and reduce costs.
. Provided structure for ongoing project and maintenance work for over
twenty properties.
