Certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
This location was a 1200+ employee machining and assembly operation
producing up to 40,000 electric appliance motors per day. Provided
engineering support for Shaft Machining department, consisting of about 60
pieces of equipment and machining up to 80,000 shafts per day for in house
and external locations. Operations involved turning, grinding, thread
rolling, spline rolling, drilling, cold extrusion and broaching.

Manufacturing Engineer
Developed cycle scheduling for three departments.
Responsible for process improvement, acceptance run-off and capital
equipment set-up.
Updated and maintained processes to meet ISO-9000 requirements.
Launched re-commissioning of machining cell that required working through
an interpreter with foreign engineers, tool development and optimization,
modifying all programs provided by the engineers, writing new programs for
additional products, and training operators on tooling setup and machine
operation. Programming this machining center required seven different
programs to run simultaneously. The programs were written manually with a
text editor.
Worked with tooling vendors to specify tools to cut design features.
Ordered replacement tooling for fixtures and machines.
Reported to Sr. Engineer in a 2500-employee machining and assembly
operation producing hydraulic pumps and motors. Assigned to machining in
this 500,000 sq/ft plant involved in machining, grinding, honing and
drilling of cast iron.
