Clinical Data Management
Clinical Research/Therapeutic:
HIV/AIDS, Alzheimer's disease, contraceptives, cancer, asthma,
osteoporosis, etc. and/or as assigned. Phases I-IV.
Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
Seven years of Clinical Data Management experience.
. Ability to adhere to regulatory guidelines, global SOPs and client
expectations. Perform all aspects of the data cleaning process.
Strong attention to detail and skill with numbers. Good written,
verbal communication, organizational, analytical and problem solving
skills. Working knowledge of GCPs and SOPs. Working in a team
environment and independently. Set and meet timelines. Ability to be
flexible with schedules accordingly. Knowledge of medical/clinical
research terminology. Query resolution, verification and cleaning of
data as assigned; Oracle Clinical 4.5.
. Review and/or analyze query spreadsheet validations from the Clinical
Science Department created by the Clinical Research Associates (CRA)
and/or In-house monitors. Once the query validation spreadsheets have
been presented by the CRAs for issuance, deciphering, manual
handwriting of queries, tracking of database/manual queries--Query
Tracking Tool (QTT), database coding splits, performing database
checks per clinical research forms (CRFs), data entry input, and
identifying the site discrepancies by CRAs according to protocol.
. Electronic data capture (EDC); the collection of clinical data in
electronic format for clinical trials.
. Quality control checks (QC) first and second pass.
. Review CRFs for compliance with normalized database design
fundamentals. Writing/editing of SOPs for resolving queries. Creates
and maintains electronic files for CRFs. Coordinates changes in CRFs
with clinical study staff. Coordinates the data query tools such as
the Data Processing Queries (DPQ) system. Creates and maintains
reports on status of queries generated and resolved. Responsible for
researching CRF data, assigning final statuses to queries, NEC
printing of queries, and delivering queries to study manager/study
monitors.
. Review data clarification forms (DCF) received from the study centers
regarding data queries. Coordinates the revision of approved and
documented query changes to the clinical database. Performs other
related duties as assigned by the Department Manager and/or Associate
Director, Data Management Department.

. Review, edit, enter, and monitor data collected during the conduct of
clinical trial studies. Provide consistency checks to insure quality
assurance. Facilitate the processing of adverse events (AEs) by
adhering to industry standards of site monitoring (per protocol).
Interacted with clinical project managers in monitoring various parts
of clinical trial studies--hospital and pharmaceutical companies.
Process clinical trials data received from different investigators
performing studies. Assist with the Quality Assurance procedures,
Consistency Checks, VerComm, FDA regulations, development of data
entry applications, data entry screens, queries, tracking,
generated/validation for drug accountability, and ad hoc queries.
Assist with double-key data entry. Define CRFs and edit and/or write
DCFs to be used in the collection of necessary patient data.
. Review, edit, enter, and monitor data collected from corporate field
biologists--pesticide research; reporting from various test site
locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. Transferring test(s) data
to VAX DBase via retrieval and logging program. Retrieve and define
data of test results consisting of various chemical compounds,
formulations, site description, and summary profile of detailed
information per protocol. Transmit validated agricultural products
data--Germany.

. Training coordinator for all the new hire of medical
transcriptionists (MTs). Training for the medical transcriptionist
systems (MTS) and various clients account specifications per protocol.
Scheduling of appointments for training. Training may consist either
by telephone or in-house. Extensive telephone contact with the MTs as
problems may arise and/or client.

. Maintain effective coordination of activities to accomplish a
complete 24-hour turn-around of transcribed studies. Maintain
efficient workflow by making periodic updates to studies to be
transcribed. Keep the transcriptionists informed of progress on work
activities to ensure their completion.
. Resolve problems related to work assignments, department
functions, and/or department services in a timely and effective
manner. Recognize problems as they occur and/or review records to
identify recurrent or existing problems. Adhere to questions/concerns
regarding the service of the Radiology department.
Medical Secretary/Administrative
. Transcription--Typing of clinical notes per patient's chart for the
designated physician's review. Make corrections to typed notes as
necessary. Xerox notes for medical records per protocol. Provide
urgent transcription as needed by the physicians. Perform
transcription as assigned by the physicians and return within a
designated time frame.

. Charts--Request and prepare patient's charts; filing. Incorporate
laboratory data and obtain results for labs. Write corresponding lab
letters and send/mail to designated patients. Request and/or fax
notes to and from providers. Provide Home Health forms to be
completed by the physician. Review forms for completion. For each
provider/physician designate charts requiring signature and
information for review. Provide any information required in a letter
to the patient.
. Mail--Distributed accordingly to the designated physicians. Acquire
charts per physician's request.
Information Specialist--National AIDS Hotline
. Retain a broad set of basic facts about HIV and AIDS. Provide
information, referrals, statistics, and educational material to
individuals inquiring about HIV and AIDS, including epidemiology,
treatment, transmission, prevention, and testing. Find answers to
specific questions posed and, generally, be a resource for callers.
Respond to callers in a clear and concise manner. Implement
organizational policies and procedures set up to maintain consistency
of services delivered. Perform several activities concurrently, e.g.;
listening carefully to the caller, accessing referral information,
