layered anti-spam/anti-virus technologies (Sendmail, Sophos

remediation of new threats, and overall mail flow efficiency from

external mail sources to the internal corporate email system.

. Have major responsibility for design and maintenance of secure

messaging environment, including multiple encryption technologies

Associate Information Technologies Engineer (Wyeth-Ayerst Research; May

1998 - December 2001)

One of two primary Novell Engineers responsible for the Radnor campus of

Wyeth-Ayerst.

. Managed daily operations of Netware 4.11 servers located at Radnor

site, including monitoring server health using Managewise 2.6 and

Compaq Insight Manager 4.22, overseeing all server hardware and

software upgrades, and providing technical specifications and

recommendations for new server hardware and software.

. Provided third-level support for help desk and end users as needed.

. Engineered and managed backup and Disaster Recovery plan for Netware

servers using ARCserve 6.1.

. Managed all aspects of Radnor branch of Corporate NDS tree using tools

such as NWAdmin and NDS Manager.

. Participated in Netware Systems Managers team to engineer solutions

and establish standards using Novell products for all domestic and

international Wyeth-Ayerst sites.

. Managed Novell Groupwise e-mail system for Radnor campus, and

participated in global Groupwise projects including new version

. Designed and implemented rollout of Novell Replication Services

throughout the United States and Europe, allowing for large volumes of

October 1993 - May 1998

Network Administrator

Began as PC Support Specialist and promoted to be one of three network

administrators who designed, upgraded, and oversaw college's Wide Area

Network. Managed and maintained all token-ring, ethernet, fast ethernet,

and FDDI internetworking components, including Cisco routers, enterprise

switches, and hubs, Bay Networks hubs, all fiber optic termination,

splicing, and backbone design, as well as network management via SNMP.

. Managed network firewall using Checkpoint Firewall-1 software on

Windows NT platform.

. Responsible for inside and outside DNS servers; acted as contact

person to Internic for the mc3.edu domain.

. Managed Netware NDS tree, including tree partitioning and

replication, user and group accounts, schema extensions, security,

and other tasks via NWAdmin and NDS manager utilities.

. Installed all software applications on Administrative and Academic

networks at two college campuses and programmed and managed menus and

distribution scripts for McAfee's SaberLAN Workstation software.

. Managed network printers, including HP JetDirect print servers;

provided network backup using ARCServe 6.1.

. Extensively involved in decisions concerning direction of campus

network's future; recommended products and helped make major

purchasing decisions concerning network.

Special Projects:

. Designed, implemented, and oversaw roll-out of Windows 95 in 23

academic computer labs as well as administrative and faculty offices

on two campuses. Included migration from Windows 3.1 and use of

McAfee's SaberLAN Workstation 6.0 for Win95.

. Oversaw MCCC's beta testing for next release of Checkpoint's Firewall-

1 software which included LDAP authentication to NDS.
