Network Engineer II

. Designed and implemented Network portion of the Safety Net project

where I installed IMT routing behind each terminating trunk route

to ensure no calls were lost when a trunk went down. Therefore

backing up the entire NGVN product with the Nortel Domestic LD

network saving the company millions of dollars of revenue while

improving customer capacity.

. Installed network infrastructure such as cable NGVN turn-up of

domestic, international, operator services and 911 for city wide

application. Worked with other departmental groups prior to turn-

up to test routing on VoIP, SS7, FGD OP, and MF groups.

. Performed software updates by changing or removing defective

routing or trunking in the Nortel switches. Worked with TRS

customer issues to keep outage issues under the Service Level

Agreements (SLA) to insuring customer satisfaction and SLAs' time

frames were met.

. Worked with Fraud Management to identify from CDR information to

assist potential threats to the network infrastructure by

initiating software changes to halt harmful activities.

. Provided on-call support for network trouble issues from individual

to citywide disaster outages by working with other support groups

concerning, hardware, operating systems, issues on wired and

wireless networks during working hours or remotely as part of 24 x

7 coverage.

. Compiled reports on switched data, maintained and corrected data

files, then reinstalled and tested corrected routing or trunking

completing audits thereby ensuring health and quality of network

data integrity.

. Worked with Toll Free and 900 switched translations in the Service

Control Point designated for 800 and 900 traffic. Also working with

trouble reporting to IVR platforms on specific customer numbers to

resolve related to switching portion due to time allocation or SS7

issues.

. Accurately maintained and documented application related to

internal and external systems operation by creating MOP's and

posting them for departmental usage.

. Consulted with Sprint's carriers and management on system

requirements for user upgrades. Made design recommendations,

installed and performed routine system backups and restores.

. Organizational collaboration with Suspense Revenue Research on

issues with (CDR) customer detail bill records to eliminate billing

discrepancies.
