SHIPPING/RECEIVING LEADMAN, FORKLIFT OPERATOR, COMPOUNDER AND

Conducted day to day operations of shipping and receiving department. Pulled orders for
shipments. Loaded trucks with outbound freight. Received inbound freight. Generated
documents to process inbound freight. Mixed chemicals per written and verbal instructions. Filled
containers as directed. Use hand held scanner for inventory control. Participated in 5S process.

• -Initiated the practice of dock personnel taking samples of inbound raw materials
instead of waiting for Quality Control Lab, getting the sample to the lab quicker and
reducing the time the material was unavailable for use.

• -Discovered several label errors before they got out of the plant, saving
thousands of dollars in fines.

• -Introduced and initiated the use of latex gloves by plant associates to take
samples of inbound raw materials. Efforts reduced the number of broken sample bottles
and time for taking resamples.
• -Improved lighting throughout the plant, enabling employees to work more
efficiently and reducing eyestrain.
• -Chosen by Safety Director to create a forklift-training program for production
associates and shipping/receiving personnel.
• -Produced and directed a forklift safety video that trained 50 associates on
potential forklift hazards.
• -Initiated practice of compounders doing their own simple Quality Control
checks, Ph., to reduce workload of lab technicians and save time waiting for simple
checks to be done.

• -Received six quality awards in a three-month period as a Temporary Assembly

MILITARY
1981 to 1987 - TANK CREWMAN/COMPANY ARMORER
Responsible for security, maintenance and accountability of company small arms.
• -Received Army Achievement Medal for Outstanding Assistance with "…issue
and turn in of over 200 major pieces of equipment".
• -Received: Overseas Ribbon, National Defense Service Ribbon, and numerous
letters of commendation.
• -Re-engineered an M-14 rifle rack to fit the M-240 machine gun, saving the
government money by utilizing old equipment for new purposes. Modified design also
improved weapons security while in a field environment.
• -Converted ammunition crates to hold sub-machine guns, improving weapon
security while in a field environment.
• -Increased arms room efficiency from 75% to 98% in one year.
• -Reduced issue time of weapons issuing during alerts from 35 minutes to 6
minutes.
