Open Systems Engineer

As a member of the 24/7 Data Center support team my primary

responsibilities were the determination of cause and restoration

of outages within predetermined SLA's at four sites including

5000+ servers. Outage investigation included hardware,

software, network and system issues.

Software support included the imaging, configuration, and repair

of Windows 95, XP, 2000, 2003 and 2008 workstation and server

platforms as well as imaging and configuration of Unix

platforms.

Experienced with installation, replacement, and support of the

following hardware platforms: Dell, Compaq, HP, IBM, Sun, Cisco,

EMC, Hitachi, and Brocade. I also have experience working with

external vendors to diagnose existing issues, schedule outages,

order replacement parts and replace failed hardware.

Additional responsibilities included determining space/power

requirements, rack and stack of equipment, network cabling, port

assignment and turn up, and maintaining detailed technical

installation documentation.

Performed a build-out of a 95,000+ square ft. data center.

Assisted in the data center refresh of two 30,000+ square foot

data centers, transitioning from a tape backup environment to a

mixed SAN and server environment.

Operations Engineer

As an Operations Engineer, I served as primary support for an

Enterprise level data center. Responsibilities included the

installation and configuration of Dell PowerEdge 2450, 2550,

6350 and 6540 servers running Windows 2000 and NT 4.0.

Additional hardware support was provided for SCSI and Fiber

Channel external disk arrays.

I was a member of the 24/7 Data Center on-call support team,

which involved resolving hardware, software and service issues.

Software support included the use of Dell Open Manage, Terminal

Services, Remedy Support software, Symantec Multicast Server and

various diagnostic tools relevant to hardware support.

Secondary responsibilities included resolving hardware and

software issues with Dell desktops and laptops.

1997-2001 Information Control Corporation Westerville, OH

IT Consultant

As a consultant on site at SmartPipes (2000-2001)

responsibilities included server and software installation and

configuration. On site at Borden Chemical (1997-1999) and BMW

Financial Services (1999-2000), I served as the site

administrator for a large NT Network, and provided second tier

support to administrators in field locations through North

America. Duties included workstation, server, application and

hardware support as well as maintaining PBX extension and

voicemail.

Software Support included setup, loading and repairing Windows

NT 3.51 and 4.0 on notebooks, workstations and servers. Server

maintenance included scheduling hardware replacement, hardware

and software upgrades.

Hardware support consisting of installations of hard drives, NIC

cards, memory, video and sounds cards and various other

equipment. These repairs and replacements were performed on

IBM, Compaq, Dell, Sony and other hardware platforms.

Performed end user administration including MACD changes for

user profiles for the Borden Chemical, BMW and ICC domains.

Technical Support Specialist

As a Technical Support Specialist assigned to Nationwide

Insurance, primary responsibility was helpdesk support for over

2000 PC users in a mixed Novell, Windows 95, Windows NT and Unix

environment
