For SafeCo insurance company, as the programmer analyst for the Human

Resources system and

assistant Payroll application analyst, I: created the first adhoc

management information system with MS ACCESS, giving the Human Resources

instant data access and reporting abilities; maintained hundreds of

batch/on-line

programs; developed a dynamic JCL generation concept, eliminating the need

for a programmer to do the work manually; made Payroll system enhancements

to comply with the government requirements; performed system analysis,

design, coding, maintenance and implementation of DLI DB systems on an IBM

mainframe (3090X series); did PC work; held regular meetings with customers

to coordinate projects; created JCL; worked with IMS/DLI COBOL (ISPF &

TSO); created all the documentation for the HR system; and, provided 24/7

on-call support.

COMPUTER SCIENCES CORPORATION - October 1987 to August 1989

This position involved the creation of a new system to track toxic waste

clean-up for "The

Environmental Protection Agency's" super-fund. It involved working with

government clients, analyzing data, designing/testing code, and creating a

NATURAL database system. I wrote more than 100 batch and on-line programs

(in NATURAL and SAS) for this multi-million dollar system. Additionally, I

assisted the technical controls

staff in maintaining and trouble shooting machine communications issues.

DeVry INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY - April 1986 to October 1987

This job involved assisting professors with class administration, and

mentoring students about programming. It also involved working in the

computer lab, where I ran an IBM system 36 computer for the school . There

were

also various control room functions to do. I also wrote a spread-sheet to

track grades.

SENIOR COMPUTER OPERATOR/SUPERVISOR

U.S. AIR FORCE - January 1979 to April 1985

With 10 years of service in the Air Force, I scheduled operator work loads,

weekly shift assignments, computer usage, and supervised 9 operators at one

of the main data centers in the country. I was responsible for computer

operations training, setting operational schedules, and operating 5

mainframes simultaneously. At that time, those were top of the line

machines, which included a: CDC6600; CDC 730; CRAY-1; and, an IBM 3031.

That high-tech assignment

was at Kirtland AFB, in New Mexico. We did weapons development and

research for President Regan's famous "Star Wars" project, which laid the

foundation for today's laser system technology. A second assignment was in

The Republic of Panama. That was a joint services assignment where we did

Top Secret work in association with "Central America" issues. I operated

Honeywell Level 6 computers and the communications equipment for a

worldwide network (the prelude to today's internet). I also was the

assistant computer security specialist.

SPORTS EDITOR, STAFF WRITER, RADIO HOST

U.S. AIR FORCE - May 1975 to December 1978

As a writer/reporter for a weekly newspaper, I: secured news; wrote

features; and, provided photographic coverage. In addition to writing

regular news stories, I was the Sports Editor. The job entailed

researching news events and collecting accurate details, conducted

interviews, writing, editing, and designing page layouts for the press.

Monday through Friday, I served as a news announcer at the base radio

station for the "News at Noon." On Saturday, I hosted an interview radio

program of important base officials.
