development and performance, hardwood lumber purchasing

program and implementation and management of Dupont safety

awareness program for all line supervisors. Developed

standard operating procedure to yield additional quarter-sawn

#1 COM & BTR lumber from resaw and gang saw from grade 1 red

oak logs. Developed pro-forma showing sales of green #2 & #3A

COM lumber would increase mill profitability. Developed

standard operating procedure to yield additional volume of #2

& #3A COM lumber from heart center cants at gang saw.

Implementation of green, flooring grade cut-plan significantly

increased cash flow.

Managed sawmill, planer mill, dry kilns, lumber and log yard

facilities for a 30MMbf/year hardwood lumber manufacturing

facility. Responsible for the day to day operations of this

facility including the supervision of 100 member hourly

workforce, in addition to 8 salaried positions. Directed

$1,000,000+ sawmill construction and renovation project

including set-up of computer optimized machinery,

material-flow channels, and finished product sorting.

Responsible for scheduling maintenance, purchasing MRO

supplies and maintaining OSHA compliance. Initiated,

developed and maintained raw material quality control database

to identify, address and record quality control problems which

led to a reduction in defective incoming raw material and

improved incoming raw material specification target.

Initiated plant-wide safety awareness and compliance program,

which resulted in a significant decrease in both minor and

lost-time accidents. Initiated, developed and maintained

production reporting information system to allow detailed

analysis of raw-material consumption, production efficiency,
