Receptionist (February 2009 - Present)

I answer a multi-line phone system and direct calls to the appropriate

person. I take orders from customers and print sales orders. I check

various trucking companies for shipping rates and schedule trucks to pick

up orders after getting the best rate quote. I print Bill of Ladings. I

enter all accounts payable bills into QuickBooks and enter all checks that

go out. I print invoices. I type all Operating Procedures and update

MSDS's. I handle time cards (printing new ones and adding up the time) and

enter them in QuickBooks. I assist with Payroll. I assign Purchase Order

numbers and keep up with the data for the Purchase Orders (items, quantity,

and price) in an Excel spreadsheet.

I answered calls from participants all over the US who had questions about

their accounts. I also entered claims into the computer system so

participants could get reimbursed for their medical expenses. I also

adjudicated claims to determine if the claims were entered in correctly by

other keyers and then determined if the expenses were reimbursable per IRS

guidelines. I also trained new employees. This job required a lot of data

entry which, per my supervisor, I was the fastest and most accurate. I also

had to fax papers to clients and email clients with information on their

accounts.

With this job, I was a multi-tasker. As operator, my responsibilities were

to answer the multi-line phone, directing the calls to the appropriate

person/department, monitor the fitting rooms, repackage any packages that

were torn open, replace price tags, and sort out the clothing to go back on

the floor. As sales floor associate, I assisted customers and also put

items back on the sales floor. I also made sure the various areas were

"zoned" (shirts are folded neatly on tables, hangers are finger-spaced on

the racks and nothing on the floor). I was also responsible for helping

with cashiering when there was a backup. I also worked on the pricing team

where the items that were being placed on clearance were marked

appropriately and also replaced the price labels on the shelves when there

were price changes.

My responsibilities were entering into the computer system all of the

information on Bill of Ladings for this freight payment company. I had my

own account that I was responsible for and was required to enter at least

400 bills a day, which I often exceeded.

Capmaker (February 1995 - August 2000)

During my five years here, I was trained to do many jobs. I started off in

the Sorting department where we sorted through thousands of parts to pick

out the defects. I then went to the K-bar room where I had my set of

machines I was responsible for in making sure the parts that the machines

produced were in spec by measuring them and weighing them. I then moved to

the job of Stage Runner where it was my job to transport all of the work to

the appropriate areas. I also assisted the supervisor in entering the

daily totals into the computer for him. I was also area coordinator where

I went to each co-worker and explained any updates of the jobs,

demonstrated them, and had them sign off on the paper saying they

understood the new change/addition.
