08/2005 - - Support federal government clients by using Lotus Notes,
present Domino, and other tools to develop high-quality user
interfaces and databases for Notes-client and browser-based
applications.
- Designed and built a system with the ability to serve
browser-based (Domino) applications from external media
(USB/flash, HDD). The system does not require Lotus Notes to
be installed on the host computer or a connection to a Domino
server.
- Modularized existing applications to eliminate future
redundant coding. Code changes can now be made one time, in
one location, and affect several different design elements.
- Standardized Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to enforce
consistency within/across databases.
- Designed an easy-to-maintain, lightweight, CSS-based
navigation system for Domino applications which works across
common web browsers but requires no complex scripting.
- Developed a tool which parses Domino database design and
exports it to XML format.
- Built several Geographic Information System tools
integrating Excel, Google Earth, and Notes.
10/2003 - Programmer/Analyst & System Administrator: Harmon City; West
08/2005 Valley City, UT
- Integrated retail data from RDBMS data stores (Oracle, MS
SQL) into Lotus Notes databases using LotusScript and
third-party tools (e.g., Notrix).
- Developed and maintained web-based reporting tools using
Notes databases containing over four million records and six
gigabytes of data. These applications allow users to enter and
report on retail sales, shrink (waste), projections,
inventory, productivity, and customer data.
- Created a Lotus Notes-based system to scan and transmit
barcode data using Windows Pocket PCs. This system and its
online reporting tools save the company over $500,000
annually.
- Administered and supported a 24x7, clustered, production
environment for over 500 mail and database users, most of whom
used a web browser and iNotes for access.
10/1999 - Lead Lotus Notes/Domino Developer, Domino Administrator:
10/2003 AchieveGlobal; Draper, UT
- Worked with users to write specs for and develop a complex
contract-generation system which allows the creation of legal
contracts in Microsoft Word by entering data in Lotus Notes
forms.
- Gathered requirements for and developed a call-tracking system
to track all hardware, software, and telecom problems throughout
the company. The system also provides customizable reports.
- Developed a corporate intranet, accessible via Lotus Notes
clients and web browsers. Allows authorized users to download and
upload data and lets managers govern access and posting rights.
- Analyzed requirements for and developed a timesheet application
which enables employees to enter hours worked while offline or
connected to the network. The system enforces org-chart-based
security and provides reporting tools for managers.
- Coordinated project-team efforts to develop the lead-management
system for corporate sales force.
- Trained and supervised two co-workers in Notes/Domino
administration, design, and development.
- Developed and presented hands-on training to approximately 400
users during Notes migration.
- Provided second-level Lotus Notes support for over 600 users.
Assisted with system administration of six Domino servers.
12/1998 - Lotus Notes/Domino Developer: MarketStar Corporation; Ogden, UT
10/1999 - Analyzed application requirements, then proposed and
demonstrated customized Lotus Notes/Domino solutions to clients,
external consultants, and management.
- Designed, coded, and maintained enterprise-wide Lotus Notes
databases and their web interfaces to customer (internal and
external) specifications.
- Increased company revenue and call-center marketability by
developing eleven Notes databases that allow reps to efficiently
manage inbound and outbound calls.
- Enhanced functionality and usability of marketing databases
supporting a large software vendor.
01/1997 - Business Analyst/Notes Developer: American Management Systems
12/1998 (now CGI); Golden, CO
- Developed and/or managed over twenty Lotus Notes databases for
marketing and technical staff in the U.S, Canada, Mexico, and the
U.K.
- Installed Notes on Sun SPARCstations, maintained Windows NT
Notes servers, compiled Smalltalk builds and integrated UNIX
applications and Windows files using Lotus Notes.
- Performed system testing on a large wireless-telecommunication
carrier's 3-tier customer-care/billing system for quality control
(including Y2K compliance).
- Researched over 100 wireless carriers and integrated this
information into Lotus Notes databases.
- Documented a large European telecommunication company's
mainframe-based billing system.
03/1995 - Technical Communications Intern: Lutron Electronics; Coopersburg,
12/1996 PA
- Interfaced with Lutron Quality Assurance team to significantly
decrease the rate of product returns.
- Generated new technical documentation. Revised and improved
existing instructional literature.
- Worked with engineers and technical staff to convey complex
product information to end users.
