Act as a strategic partner on the company’s Executive Team designing, leading, and implementing programs and
systems that optimize the company’s People Strategy. Focus on creating and maintaining the company’s culture and
values while improving sales productivity, operational productivity and employee engagement. Strategically
responsible for learning and development, organizational development and design, wellness, employment, employee
relations, benefits, and employee engagement for the company.
Accomplishments:
Lead company training and development resources resulting in redesign of PVP
Performance Management Process and creation of strategically aligned corporate learning structure:
PVP University. Design and implement company succession planning process. Lead total rewards
audit and overhaul, aligning company compensation and incentive programs with overall corporate
strategy.
Create and support corporate wellness program which controls renewal increases for
medical benefits (2007 0% increase, 2008 5% increase, 2009 5% decrease) and received
WELCOA’s Gold Level Fit Workplace designation 2007-2008-2009-2010. Moved the company to
self-funded medical and dental benefits creating a savings in excess of $900,000 in fiscal year 2010.
Renegotiated broker’s fees to attain a 50% reduction in fees while maintaining the same services for
fiscal year 2011.
Create and maintain recruiting and hiring processes focused on setting all new hires and
current employees up for success. Strategically develop and implement on boarding program that
balances time to productivity with cultural integration. Maintained well below market turnover
averages for distribution (18-20%) and call center organizations (3-5%).
Create, design and implement PVP’s Reilly Advantage Survey Program which fosters two
way communications, increases trust and measures the vitality of PVP’s core values.
Lead a People Strategy that creates employee engagement and loyalty well above the norm.
The strategy has been validated by PVP being named one of the Top 25 Best Medium Places to
Work in America by the Great Place to Work Institute in 2005 and 2006. This is the same process
applied to the Top 100 Best Places to Work in America seen in Fortune Magazine annually. PVP is
currently a finalist for the 2010 Best Medium Places to Work; the finalist status has been attained
despite a reduction in force and a wage freeze in 2009. 86% of PVP’s employees agree that “Taking
all things into consideration, I believe PVP is a great place to work.”
Develop, maintain, and interpret corporate HR policies, standards and procedures.
Act as a strategic partner and an advisor/coach for CEO, COO, CFO and the entire
leadership team. Create and maintain a communication strategy that allowed for the seamless
transition of a new CEO replacing the tenured (25 year) founding CEO. Actively participate with
the company Board of Directors providing information and strategic overview regarding the people
strategy of the organization.
