Avaya Federal Solutions, Inc., Birmingham, Alabama
Designated Systems Installation Crew: Installed PBX equipment to include
the Definity family and S8XXX model Voice over IP (VoIP) equipment.
Installed servers for Audix, Modular Messaging, Intuitive Response, and
Call Management Systems; Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) to support
Avaya systems; and provided maintenance and repair of these systems.
Installed, maintained and repaired: Personal computers, WAN/LAN networks to
include the house cabling and cross-connect fields, analog modems, channel
service units and digital service units; data and voice network punch-down
fields and patch panels. Installed software, firmware, and updates for
Avaya, Microsoft, and Linux equipment. Installed and maintained routers
and switches.
Two-year assignment as dedicated technician to a corporate headquarters
building: Responsible for moves, adds, changes, and rearranges to the PBX
and Audix systems, including daily backups for PBX, Audix, Intuitive
Response, and Call Accounting systems.

Telecommunications Technician, 1974-1981
The Adjutant General, Alabama Army National Guard, Montgomery, Alabama.
Installed, overhauled, repaired and maintained a variety of electronic and
communication equipment. This included inspection, troubleshooting, and
diagnosis to determine causes of failures. Repaired assembles to the
component level. Served as a member of the Maintenance Assistance and
Inspection Team, using a wide variety of test equipment, repair manuals,
schematic diagrams, and technical orders to assist in repairs.
Served in the Alabama Army National Guard as a Warrant Officer assigned as
Telecom/Crypto Technician and Communication/Electronic Repair Technician.
